There's always some truth it in. Papers don't print just anything. For instance, if I went to them and told them loads of stuff about people, it wouldn't get printed. There's usually a little bit of truth and then the papers just run with it - some times they run a marathon with it but still, usually some truth in it, somewhere.


I was surprised at how quickly her injury had healed. On Saturday, she couldn't even stand or put any weight on it. On Tuesday she was storming around the training room. Again, papers exaggerating her injury probably.

Now I know Georgia only did that Tango in week 6 (so you wouldn't really expect any 10s) but I still haven't spotted anything technically wrong with that Tango ... though admittedly I have very little technical knowledge when it comes to the Tango!

I have to agree with you, Brian. I remember back when we were discussing dances that deserved 10s (AS and VW spring to mind!!) and when I looked back at the Tango I realised that, that probably did as well. As you say, there was nothing technically wrong with it, no bad comments from the judges (that I remember) so surely that means a perfect 10?

Tango week was definitely the week I saw Georgia as making the final. She then just got better and better

How I would love to see Georgia on that dancefloor again ... don't get me wrong, I loved all her dances and all the shows they were on ... but the wait for the spoiler, not so much!

AS, VW, Showdance (they should've overlooked that shoulder), final Rumba! So many of them deserved 10s. And then that Paso! That was so ridiculously undermarked (and Karen Hardy agreed!).

As you say, for that Tango, no negative comments at all - Craig said she was "incandescent daaaarling", Len called her the "Queen of Halloween" - I'm sure if they'd done exactly the same dance later on they would've got 10s, just marked down because it was only week 6 I think.

Georgia really never looked back from Tango week. I remember in their ITT interview after it she said how much more confidence and it really showed in all her performances after..

Well, yes. I'd have given 10s to more but I did understand why in some of them. I did see the, tiny, loss of balance in the Rumba - shame because otherwise perfect 10. Same for the Foxtrot - that dance was utterly spellbinding. Such a shame about the shoulder. The dance off version was easily a perfect 10.

Side note - now that Sergio videos have been taken down we can't watch that dance off version anymore can we?

It being week 6 shouldn't have made a difference. The dance was perfect and should have been scored as such!!

Well I think I would've rather got more invested after the show had concluded and the outcome was known to be honest. Seriously, that prolonged wait for the Semi Final spoiler was one of the most nervous times of my life - I'll not forget it!!

Such a tiny loss of balance though, and again it kind of exposes the inconsistencies of the judges marking. Take this moment from Jay's Rumba from a few weeks previously (https://youtu.be/O21dGiEdE4c?t=70) he also has a loss of balance and got three 10s! I'm not begrudging him his 10s, I just think that Georgia should've got some too!

Yes, I agree - I think the Tango was a massive confidence boost for Georgia!

I just love Georgia's Tango pic on Instagram. She looked and danced amazingingly that Halloween week, and yes should have got 10s, no criticism, but marks didn't show that! Love too how just to make it clear she's typed "EVERYONE" (at Strictly) in capitals!!

I shall be voting for Daisy/Aljaz and Oksana/Robert (and its her birthday today) ... and possibly more, depending on how they dance. I do love Claudia though and hope she does well tonight......all will be revealed 6.30(ish)!! Then to wait for the Spoiler!!

The Ghostbusters Tango... why not a perfect score?

One of the problems there, funnily enough, was footwork (toe leads where there should have been heel leads in some places). Very difficult of course for Georgia due to her height difference with Gio and a problem picked up elsewhere with her early ballroom e.g. the Waltz. You can see it where the footwork is shown but to be fair feet are only visible in about half the dance - the rest might have been perfect footwork - only the judges would know. That Tango was very fast and it is extremely hard to maintain discipline around heel leads at such speed.

I loved the GG Tango - a great dance and best dance of that night for me.

By the time I'd gotten home Georgia had already been in the dance off and gotten through so I didn't have any panic lol. Well, just the few seconds between my mum saying 'Georgia was in the dance off' and 'but she was saved'

I never watched live so never saw Jay's dances but having just watched it, yes, I see your point. Where were GG's 10s then?


Wonder if it will be a shock tonight or the more predictable Anastacia/Laura or Daisy? (seen as they are the only ones who've been in the dance off.)

thanks for your reply, yes, the props may appeal to a younger audience but I think you're right in saying that the less able dancers may need a theme and props to distract the audience from their dancing ... or lack of it

I am intrigued as to who will go tonight. In my mind it could be Ed and Anastasia in the dance off but the public seem to want to keep Ed in a little longer so the bottom two may be a shocker! We shall see............

On the dance off week, even though I'd seen the spoiler, when we got to the actual show I basically got to the stage where I refused to believe she had been in the dance off ... so was extremely furious when they were in it!

Saying that we did get to see that utterly beautiful Foxtrot again.

Saying that, it was a shame that Helen was eliminated because of it, Georgia tweeted such a lovely message to her at the time

Yes, I wouldn't mind Kevin winning either, though do have some doubts whether Louise and him will have the same level of popularity as some of the others when it comes to the viewer vote.

I definitely think that it will be an element of distraction being used for the weaker dancers.

I am not sure how Gio and Laura will do,I didnt think much of their dance of what's been seen so far,too flat footed for me so her injury is maybe still hampering her.
Time will tell. Not sure who will be in the dance of,much as he is a trier,it really should be Ed, I think Greg might struggle with the rumba. Could be a shocker though.

Can't tell you how excited I am for strictly tonight ! I can actually watch it live and vote ! Yay. We have a rare Saturday night In ! Think I will be very active on this thread tonight too ! 😂😂

Excited to see Laura and Gio tango saw the training video and thought it looked like it had good potential ! ( her ankle looked ok, amazing that ! Lol ). But I also hope it's not as good a Georgia's last year ! We all know what we thought of that one ! 👏🏻👏🏻😉😀

Think it will be very interesting to see how the judges score this week after last weeks shock result ! Wonder if they will score generously to the couples they want to keep in ( providing they dance well of course ) I wouldn't be surprised if Laura and Gio benefited from it too ! The public vote will be interesting, wonder if there will be a bounce for daisy and a negative because of Laura missing last week ( bet they will play on the injury in the VT ) ! We will just have to wait and see I suppose !
