Just reading your thoughts on Saturday night. Looking forward to more of your thoughts later on.
skgledhill has posted an Instagram of the evening performance BAT cast receiving their applause on stage in Belfast. The caption is very nice. You will see Charlie as Fred. Alicia🕶👗💄🎭⭐️😄 |

Hi all!!!
Just finished watching rest of Strictly after a break for a highly satisfying MotD!! A point away at Man City, oh yes!!!! ![]() Right on to Strictly and.... wait for it.....yeeeeesssssssssss!!!!!!!! At long last Louise had finally wowed me, and how!!!!!!!! That was feisty, pasdionate, dramatic & brilliant!! Well done that girl & well done Kevin!! Dance of the nightby a distance for me!! Danny/Oti & Ore/Jo both came back with excellent routines tonight!! No dance off fears for any of the top 3 then!! The two VWs, totally different but loved them both in their own way!! Just worry if the public will 'get' Daisy/Aljaz's but I found it sweet & charming!! I fear for Ed & Katya tonight because I think it's nownobvious everyone else is a lot better than them & I don't know how much longer they can survive on pure entertainment but I still REALLY want to see them back next week!! Rinder & Oksana I thought danced well & should be safe again, as I expect will Claudia/AJ but that song categorically DID NOT work for me as a Paso song, I hated it, but have to congratulate them on doing their best with it!! Which brings me to Laura& Gio!! My honest opinion!! Congratulations Laura on doing your best after an ankle injury but for me that song/routine was way too ambitious & Laura never really looked comfortable with it, despite being a trouper & trying her best!! My favourite part was Gio with those spins!!!!! Critiques on my critiques please!!!

And everyone else who's said how good it was ... what a fab dance! Wish we could have seen one from G & G.
Louise and Kevin are my cat's favourites this year ... A couple of weeks ago he walked into the sitting room when Strictly was on and stopped and stared at the TV. He then jumped up in a chair, watched Kevin and Louise and, as soon as they had finished, jumped down from the chair and left the room. This evening he was asleep in the chair while Strictly was on, but woke up when Kevin and Louise came on, watched their dance and then, as soon as they had finished, once aqgain he jumped down off the chair and left the room. (I think he may have gone to ring the bookies and increase his bet) NDD- I haven't watched the show yet but I was curious so watched Laura and gios dance and yes it was way too ambitious - especially with the injury! My fave part was his spins too! Laura did her best bless her but I worry for them! Someone has tweeted gio saying 'gio danced so brilliantly I forgot to watch Laura. Whoops! ' and Gio has liked it I'm a leetle surprised he would publicly like that tweet!

There is the most awkward clip of 'Lavanni' backstage on the Strictly Twitter Account - I can't link - but I don't think Laura is overly pleased with him - cant say I blame her. I don't know if he had it in mind but I don't think the 'Curse of Strictly' is going to kick in anytime soon

Last night's show great after last week's being a bit dull I loved Claudia and AJ's paso, they did a brilliant job with that awful choice of paso song. I really wish they'd give them some decent appropriate music for their dances, they've had some stinking song choices. I really enjoyed Daisy and Aljaz's VW - she's very much a ballroom girl and she looked lovely. I'm pleased Judge Rinder had a dance with no silly dress up's and gimmicks - i really think he gets undermarked by the judges. I really don't know how Bruno can justify giving Laura and Gio that 9. She was fine when dancing with Gio but the solo parts from Laura were extemely iffy, she did nothing more than wiggle and pout. I don't think Gio meant any harm by overdoing it slightly in the solo parts, it wasn't any different to Natalie over dancing to protect Greg last week and try to hide what he couldn't do, but all eyes really were on him especially during those spins and it should be all about the celeb. I loved Ed and Katya again, her choreography is great and i really hope they get to Blackpool. I can't say i'm really interested in Louise and Danny - they are brilliant dancers but they just don't excite me or interest me when watching them. Ore and Greg i can take or leave - wouldn't mind if they stayed or left. Quote:
![]() I wonder if she's got anything planned for today and that's why she's so excited to go home? it's a shame she's straight to Cardiff tomorrow and doesn't have two days off. Quote:
I saw that too, not just anyone but Matthew Bourne :

I don't know if he had it in mind but I don't think the 'Curse of Strictly' is going to kick in anytime soon ![]() - even though it is true, all eyes really were on him and not Laura, he left her stood on her own at the end while he was spinning all over the floor. ![]() I saw that Instagram video and it's very awkward between them. I don't think she was too happy with those spins which make me wonder if there was a last minute change, did her injury flare up so things had to be changed slightly? Congratulations to Anton and Hannah - his announcement was very cute

Otherwise, brilliant a spectacle as it was, it would just have been self indulgent on his part!! Something wasn't right!! It was bad luck to get the Samba so soon after an ankle injury, and I'm guessing he was trying to protect her as much as he possibly could!! Agree about Bruno!! I normally don't go with the conspiracy theories/favouritism brigade where the judges are concerned but I'm sorry, throughout the whole series so far he has showed blatant favouritism towards these two & as others have said before, it does them no good in the long run!!

I usually have the opinion its all swings and roundabouts with stuff like this, but every week its the same thing with them? Credit to them both for doing so well despite it! I really like Louise and Kevin and wanted to back them from the start, and was willing them to do a dance that wowed me. And she danced so well last night. But it still didn't win me over? I just don't think shes going to do it for me this year, but I tried! and I do like her as a person! I do like Greg and Natalie, but I'm starting to feel a bit like I did with Jay about them. As in I have this feeling hes getting huge support regardless of how hes going to dance and that starts to annoy me a bit the more obvious it gets. The likes of Ed will go soon - their kind of support only goes up to a certain point, but I'm getting the impression that criticism they got last week solidified his support in the same way Jays nerves along with his jive did in week 3 and hes now the peoples favourite. Its not that I don't like them both, and I think they've done really well, its just this feeling that hes going to be supported nomatter how he dances from now on irriates me sometimes. I know it shouldn't because if hes liked hes liked! I just hope I'm wrong, or that if i'm right it doesn't become too obvious ![]() As for the Laura and Gio debate - I'm a bit divided on it. As much as I'm aware Gio loves to get the chance to showcase his spins (first week of the jive, some of it in week 3 rumba, then his pro dance with Jo - and of course in the showdance) its also a thing for Gio to overdance and distract to cover for weak dancing (as he did with Georgias cha cha when she only had 2 days to train) so it could be well have been for that reason. Regardless of Gios motives, I think he did Laura a favour because a lot of criticism will go his way now (going by that backstage clip, Laura seems to be critical of Gio too?!) and going by how Laura danced, I don't think we would have seen anything too different from what we saw from her already, even if he hadn't done his spins. So in a way the focus has been put on his choreography rather than Lauras dancing which is probably a good thing for Laura. I don't know why he did the spins, could have been to distract, but I do think he should have slowed the pace down. It seemed as fast as Georgias? She was praised for managing to keep up at that speed and do so well - praised I think because it was unusually fast. Not sure why he'd try it at that speed again when Laura is a ballroom girl with a sore ankle? Loved Danny and Otis jive. Not fussed with Ores or Eds (sorry). Enjoyed Rinders. Danny and Claudia top two again for me last night. Such a better show compared to the week before I thought

Giovanni doesn't seem to have many friends on his own appreciation forum. Perhaps his name needs to be removed. . Can I just point out we only see what the camera chooses to show us.
WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT LAURA WAS DOING WHEN GIOVANNI WAS SPINNING. Laura was hidden from view. It was only when she started to move towards him did she come into view. |
