Thank you very, very much for your detailed answer, you know much more about all this than I do which perhaps isn't surprising given your location! It certainly is the case that Donald is somewhat lacking in (or should I say completely devoid of) diplomacy. And as you say, a big part of his economic master plan (including further deregulation - look where that got us in 2008!) seems to be protectionism. But it certainly seems to me that Trump is going out of his way to antagonize the Chinese, such as with that phone call to Taiwan that you mention, Alicia.

I am confused though, is she going to Trieste or Rome, or are the two places near each other ? Anyone good at Italian geography?

Off topic but did anyone watch the Robbie Williams Brit Icon special on ITV last night? It was brilliant and great to re-live all the Robster's and Take That's old tunes. Now he would be a fantastic contestant on Strictly. I think he could be good at both latin and ballroom. Plus he would be able to sell all the dances. Imagine if he was paired with Katya what a dream team!

Winter's a good time of year to visit Venice when it's not too rammed with tourists. However, it can be a bit rainy and prone to flooding.

BTW some sharp eyed person on Gio's own app thread has noticed on that pictures of the pros on their salsa night out that his earrings are back! Not sure I approve since I don't like earrings on men although these ones are pretty discreet.

I feel it would remiss of me not to mention that on the corresponding Tuesday of last year (i.e. the Tuesday before the Semi Final) we had GGs Argentine Tango announced!!!! ..... and then took down again after about an hour and a half. This thread has been in meltdown several times before, but that was arguably one of the bigger ones!! Someone on the thread had even suggested a couple of weeks before apropos of nothing some good music for their Argentine Tango and lo and behold that was the music they had too! So we had the perfect dance and the perfect music ... it was almost too good to be true, and it turned out it blooming well was!! I'm still fuming about it as I write now!! And it was actually a couple of months I could watch an Argentine Tango again (seriously!!) and now every time I see one I'm left thinking how good GGs could have been! Of course that's nothing to take away from the Cha Cha Cha - which was particularly fabulous, especially given the circumstances.



Nope, I'm no use at Italian geography - well I know that Rome is in the middle somewhere, absolutely no idea where Trieste is!!

And that's right Jen, I am indeed not called Brian. But there's no need to feel gullible, if I'd have been in your position I would have thought I was Brian as well (I think that just about makes sense! )

But if I ever find myself cast in a play or something like that, I'll tell them to case me as a Brian if I sound like one!
