Morning all!
One point I'd make about the final last night is that I preferred the formatting of the 'judge's choice' dance, i.e. pick a dance that they've already scored very high in and then try and get to 40 - if that had been the case last year, I'm absolutely sure GG would have been given their Samba to do again. Now, as much as I loved GGs Rumba I felt it meant they were a little bit handicapped as they actually had to do new choreography, plus I would have just absolutely loved to see that Samba again - and remain confident that if they had been given it to do, the Samba 40 record would have been broken last series rather than this series!
A very happy belated birthday to
Penny.
Very sorry to see you leave
Patti - hope you're able to pop in now and again.

That is just absolutely lovely of Georgia, what a lovely message, she has always been so so supportive of Jo. She went and supported her in many of the events she's done throughout this year, tweeting her messages of support, for example when she got her theatre role in 'Thoroughly Modern Millie' earlier this year, and who can forget that after the Viennese Waltz when Georgia was praised by Claudia for her performance that she diverted all the praise onto Joanne. Georgia's always been so tremendously supportive of her, and it's been a little disappointing that Joanne hasn't really supported Georgia in the same way recently, Georgia of course had several new and no doubt hugely daunting theatre roles recently, in what Joanne will have been aware was very difficult circumstances considering there had just been a split, yet there hasn't been any messages of support from Joanne to Georgia, nor does it seem she took the time to see her perform. So yeah, I found it disappointing that Georgia's level of support (which judging by the message last night is the same now as it ever was) has not, in my view, been reciprocated by Jo.

I agree absolutely Ruby that parents should never interfere in a son or indeed daughter's love life - I mean think of poor Claudia Fragapane who has been banned from dating until she's 25

- how illiberal is that?!!
BUT, what I would say is that it is absolutely the responsibility of parents to tell their offspring to treat others well and with respect, to be honest with people, and to think of others rather than just yourself.

I'm certain that there was always going to be a gap, because we always knew that she would be only doing it for two weeks yet was doing it right up to new year. I think when she talked about not being able to fit in Xmas she was saying it more in a jokey way in that she was busy around Xmas but not specifically at Xmas itself.
