Messi and Ronaldo both in international finals this year. Hmmm.
Hope he flops like Messi.

Poor performance from Wales.

Great performances against Belguim and in the group.

A damp squib tonight.

Outplayed tonight. Where was the spirit we showed in the Belgium game?

Don't care if I'm called a sore loser but I really can't stand that oozing walking oil-slick Ronaldo . Vile.

Well, I would hate to have to watch this game again. Neither side have looked good enough this match to be contesting the final of the Euros. Hopefully France or Germany will turn up for the final and play some quality football.
Its been a piss poor tournament all round, truth be told. If it was'nt for the bright moments from Wales and the Irish there would have been little interest at all. Expanding the tournament has been one big fail !

It is typical aint it

Previously Portugal reached a Euro final where they were the favourites against Greece and lost

And now they reach another final where they are the underdogs and will probably win

Looking forward to whatever the final is. Any side with Ronaldo has a chance. Win or lose it will be interesting to see his reaction, if nothing else.

I just knew Ronaldo would find a leek in the Welsh defence.

Wales were poor with the final ball and missed Ramsey so much. Congratulations though to Wales for a wonderfully spirited tournament.

Looking forwards to watching the winners tomorrow night - can't see this uninspiring Portugal side putting up much of a (legal) fight in the final frankly.

That was a poor quality game but Portugal were the better team. Wales just didn't seem to turn up. I think Ramsey was a huge miss.

Expect France/Germany to beat Portugal comfortably in the final.

Well done Wales though for making the semi's, have done Britain proud.

Bale looks English tonight.
Maybe he's trying to fit in with the 9 other Welsh players born in England.

Eeekkkk so much salt in these comments Congratulations Wales for getting this far. Well done Portugal. The irony of people downplaying Portugal' s as a team when the England national team is an embarrassment ( with a bunch of overrated players ) ;got eliminated by Iceland of all people. Some of these England fans criticizing Portugal should be the last to talk just saying.

Once again well done Portugal and thank you for faring well without Pepe. Hope he will heal by the final. Commiserations once again to Wales. I have been thoroughly impressed by them this whole tournament. They have a bright future ahead of them.

If they win, its all because of him. If they lose, its because of the other ten players.

In his oily head anyway.

Portugal clever to keep the fouls at a distance . Bale not so clever to get actually in the box and not take all the kicks

Referee Eriksonn was stupid and ought to have been tougher on Portugal's cynical fouling.

Wales were not good enough tonight up front and mid field were both let downs generally the team didn't cut it after such high expectations.

Andy King was one for individual criticism not up to speed compared to Williams or Robson Kanu. If he left that cross alone then Portugal would not have had another chance to score at that time.

Amazed at this referee that he was hoodwinked many times by the Portugese players who were rolling around on the floor writhing in their death throes and a minute later up and fouling ours. They felt they could get away with anything tonight.

Lennon once sang "The dream is over...." Okay, he was singing about The Beatles, obviously!

We were absolutely robbed there. The referee was rubbish and...I can't keep that up.

Fair result, we clearly did miss Ramsay and only really had one decent chance in the second half, when it was probably too late anyway. Disappointed, but hugely proud of the boys efforts getting us so far. It's been a heck of a ride. At least when the rather fluky (well it was!) second goal went in, I knew I wasn't going to have to hide in the neighbour's garden during the penalty shoot out.

You'll have a damn good reception back in Wales, boys. Did us proud.

Ronaldo's ballon d'or odds have now shortened from evens to 4/9.

The gulf in quality when a nation our size loses a player like Ramsey is huge. All due respect to Andy King and Jonny Williams but they aren't in the same class as the Arsenal player. Countries with a bigger quality playing pool to chose from would struggle With the loss of a frontline star but to a lesser extent.

Oh well.

Wales, enjoy your "we got to the semi-finals" bus parade in Cardiff.

As an Englishman, I can tell you its great fun (Italia 90 / Euro 96).

Then one day, hopefully, you'll have a "we won" bus parade (England 66).

Gareth Bale spoke in his interview about the Welsh side now needing to focus on the World Cup qualifying campaign and clearly the new question will be whether Wales can kick on from this achievement - because that hasn't been a given for other nations who have come out of nowhere to do well at major tournaments.

Saying that, Wales' qualifying group doesn't look tremendously difficult even with only the winners going through; Ireland are probably their biggest challengers with Austria not far behind, and Serbia, Moldova and Georgia making up the rest of the group.

Homecoming will take place against Moldova at the Cardiff City Stadium on September 5th.

And that was at home. What a woeful record England has.
