Well well well... Wales without Ramsey looked like Uruguay without Suarez

Oh well.

Wales, enjoy your "we got to the semi-finals" bus parade in Cardiff.

As an Englishman, I can tell you its great fun (Italia 90 / Euro 96).

Then one day, hopefully, you'll have a "we won" bus parade (England 66).
Typical Englishman, pissing on our achievement and trying to compare it to England. Well, our getting to the semi finals was better than anything England has ever done considering the differences in squads.

Ronaldo appears to be a nice guy actually. If he was ugly people on this thread would like him a lot more

Win or lose in the finals, Cris is getting another ballon dor in January ( 80% sure of that ) and as a fan that's all I want. Of course, I know how winning the Euro would mean the world to him but if that doesn't happen, at least we'll get a ballon dor.
Can't stand Messi as a person but I feel bad that him and Cris haven't won what they wanted most with their national team; ( well so far ) . I guess you can't have everything .

Not going to be pessimistic. I'm extremely happy that Portugal made it to the finals . France or Germany, bring it on . Don't care about who we face lol although I am in mind of a Portugal -Germany final. Mostly because they're my second favorite team in these tournaments so I wouldn't be too mad or disappointed if they won. As far as France is concerned, I am not too fond of their players and national team.

Either way, I'm excited and Nervous

He seems like a nice man off the pitch but a bit of a prima donna on it. All fine to have a bit of a laugh at but the hatred it seems to inspire from some is all a bit sad really.

Unlucky for Wales tonight, but they just didn't play anywhere near good enough to warrant going through to the final.

They however did magnificently to even reach the semi's.

Unlike with Messi, he doesn't have a criminal record.

Outplayed tonight. Where was the spirit we showed in the Belgium game?

Don't care if I'm called a sore loser but I really can't stand that oozing walking oil-slick Ronaldo . Vile.
You don't have to be a sore loser for your comment on Ronaldo to be spot on. So very sorry the Welsh adventure is over.

So Rooney would be even more criticised if he were handsome? C'mon credit your average DSer with a bit more perspective. I'm a Ronaldo fan, but it's his hissy-fit histronics people react badly too, not his facial fortune. I wouldn't be surprised if he's the most fouled foward at these Euro's but he only gets awarded around one in three decisions and that's entirely because of his self-earned rep. It's not right mind you, but it is partly his own fault.

When Messi also reached the Copa America final

Won the Champions League whilst being top scorer (16 goals, one off the record), still has the Super cup and the World Club Championship to come.

Whichever of Messi or Ronaldo win the Champions League, and scoring a lot of goals in the process, becomes the defacto Ballon D'Or winner. Europe and the Champions league carries an enormous amount of weighting in the Ballon D'Or decision.

Personally I think Suarez has actually been the best player this year so far, but the CL went to Real Madrid this year, just like it with Barcelona last year and why Messi won it.

Ronaldo actually outscored Messi in the calendar year of 2015, infact Messi was injured for two months of it between October and December and was anonymous for the latter stages last year, but it doesn't matter Barcelona won the treble, so Messi was always going to win it.

Portugal are a different team when they have a lead and force their opponents to chase a game. Suddenly they pick up the pace of their own play and their quick counter attacks look lethal. They are torture to watch while games are tied up though with their lethargic passing and build up play.

If Portugal can score first in the final, they will have a good chance of lifting the trophy. Let's hope there's an early goal in the final otherwise it's not going to be pleasing on the eye whoever the opponent.

As for Wales, I think they finally ran out of gas tonight. They never really looked like seriously testing that weakened Portugal defence. Ramsey being missing obviously didn't help matters. The quality just wasn't there without him linking up the play.

The better question is why is it between Ronaldo and Messi when it's Griezmann and Suarez who have been setting the world of football on fire this season

Not sure what Griezmann has done to put himself above the other three.

And that was at home. What a woeful record England has.
So what? Not everyone has advantage at home. Brazil were at home and got hammered 7-1.

Some may argue Brazil actually getting to the semi-final in the first place was because they were at home. They were fortunate to get past Chile and Colombia and had those games been played outside of Brazil, I'm not sure they would have won either of them. Very lucky.

Too right they were lucky

They had probably the worst Brazilian team since the seventies

Don't forget the disgustingly refereed opening game against Croatia!

Anyway, I don't know if the guy trying to measure England by Wale's standards is on a windup

I think you need to check a dictionary to see the meaning of woeful, it 's defined like this "Wales qualifying record for major tournaments."
Germany, Italy, Brazil and Spain have all failed to win the World Cup on home soil.
