You sir are correct.
I was getting the same exact thought about Portugal in this tournament. Very Argentina 1990. In addition, Argentina also played very defensively in that World Cup (TBF all teams bar the German side did), pretty much relying on the penalty shoot outs during the knock out phase. They were also playing for penalties in the final. Plenty of intent aside from W Germany |

Means nothing in a tournament...Belgium had better players in the whole than Wales but still lost, England certainly had better players than Iceland yet still lost, Spain had better players than Italy and lost, Germany also probably had better players than France and again lost.
Never discount Portugal, but I simply cannot see any way for them to win this (bar voodoo) |

But unlike Belgium, England or even Spain - France play like a team and Dechamps has shown his class as manager. They have the better players (insane depth and quality!) who are all in spectacular form, a much better manager and a clear system. They are amazing in attack, but yesterday also showed that their defence is strong. Plus, all of France is going crazy over their win.
Never discount Portugal, but I simply cannot see any way for them to win this (bar voodoo) They won't push up like Germany, creating space at the back for the opposition to exploit, and if you watched them against Wales, they didn't give away freekicks in dangerous positions for Bale to exploit just keeping him at arms length and far enough away from goal. It's very easy to under estimate Portugal but they do have a plan, I don't think it will be easy for France in the slightest....the match could go either way. |

Despite having been largely bored to tears by Portugal, the instant dismissal of any chance that they have by certain posters makes me want them to win it.

Portugal are showing themselves as hard to beat. With only Hungary in the world's most bizarre game of football scoring for fun against them, they've only shipped two goals in the other games. The idea that a team in the final can only win it by divine intervention doesn't really pan out.
