I voted for several:

1. The missing Battersbys: I've only seen the Battersbys in old youtube videos but from what I've seen of them I love.

2. Peter Barlow: His absence is really felt, he should have been around for Simon's abuse story and I wouldn't mind seeing him and Leanne reunite.

3. Martin Platt- It makes no sense that David's father hasn't been around for all the drama going on in the Platts. If t hey can't get the original actor to come back they should recast.

4. Rosie Webster- She seemed like a really fun character maybe they could pair her with Gary causing Anna and Sally to clash once again.

I have the ultimate plot idea. Bring back Rosie and match her up with Kate! Now that would be a love triangle with Sophie that makes soap history!

I definitely wouldn't want any of those in the poll back, maybe Mavis, but briefly. Hilda/Jean Alexander is a different story

LOL I can't see that though, Kate is so bland and boring. It think Rosie would only go after Kate if there was something to get out of it.

I'd love to see Curly back, his return has been discussed for so long now it would be great to actually see it become a reality.

A stint for Sylvia would be good, just so we can see her interact with Cathy.

Dennis Tanner shouldn't have been axed in my opinion, and even though not exactly a dramatic character he was enjoyable to watch. It still bugs me about what has become of him, as he didn't have a penny to his name so what are his current living conditions? Not a good treatment of an original character just to leave him like that.

And of course Peter Barlow, but this will no doubt happen in a few years time.

My picks from the poll options:

Toyah Battesrby- Yes! I think Georgia Taylor is a very good actress and I always liked Toyah, she still has connections with Leanne, Maria, Emily... I'd like to see Leanne, Eva and Toyah all on screen together, I think this could be a very successful returrn and she would fit right back in.

Kirsty Soames- I think Kirsty was a good character, because she was multilayered and not just portrayed as a "villain". Her backstory gave us insight into why she acted the way she did although not to condone it. I think a 'reformed' Kirsty rocking up asking to see Ruby could be what the character of Tyrone needs. I think Alan Halsall is a good actor and the Domestic abuse sl was some of his best stuff but the character has been dragged down recently and a guest stint from Kirsty could be good.

Peter Barlow- YES! I think Peter is great and Carla is gone now so there is no chance of going back in circles with that so more potential for new storylines and material for the character. He's Ken's son and there will always be a place for him in the street I think.

Rosie Webster- I think there is definitely a place for Rosie in the show and her absence among the websters has been felt imo.

Gail's dad- What on earth happened to Ted? According to Wiki he last appeared in 2010 at Gail's wedding to Joe but she recently received a birthday card from him. I would have liked to see him at either of Gail's 2015 weddings just for a bit of continuity and I think he could work as more of a recurring character, popping up to visit from time to time and coming to lend a hand when there is trouble for Gail (which is never far off)

Adam Barlow- I think Adam with a new face could be a good new addition to the show, I think he should have come back for Deirdre's funeral last year. It would build up the Barlow family as well.

Sylvia Goodwin- I enjoyed Sylvia and her relationship with Roy and would like to see more.

I think it's time for Corrie to commit that carnal soap sin and kill Martin off off screen ...

I have to disagree, they have killed off way too many characters. What would be so wrong with a recast?

Seriously, none. But I think Peter and Jim will be back again within a year or so.

I got bored of Jim years ago.

Along with his constant split/reunion storylines with Liz McMutton. I'm sure we'll get more of the same if he returns.

Oh ok. Too bad Tony isn't still around, it would have been fun to watch Jim and Tony fight over Liz.

Let's approach ITV with a spinoff proposal. We'll produce a series featuring all these X-rated threesomes and plunk it on Netflix! All for except Norris/Rita/Audrey, but I'd bet you that there are some Netflix viewers that would bingewatch that too!

LOL ok, I don't see a Norris/Rita/Audrey one working Rita and Audrey don't want Norris, they'd be going after Ken or Freddie and I swear Norris is gay, he probably secretly wants Sean.

Ok then an 0rgy series featuring Ken/Freddie/Rita/Audrey and Emily when she comes back from Peru. Narrated by Norris. Netflix will take that on for sure!
