PAYG for Sky Sports seems a good idea but my Now TV is via Apple TV. Do I register and pay for a pass online or is it all done via the TV? Reluctant to leave my credit cards detais anywhere but happy to use it for individual payments.Surprisingly not got much use out of Apple TV but this seems a real bonus!

The procedure is pretty much the same whatever method you are using to access the Now TV paid for services.

You need to buy a pass on the Now TV website which involves setting up an account. Explained here

So far so good but I believe you can get reduced rate passes elsewhere?

Two options if you use an Apple TV.
Let iTunes handle all the billing and buy passes as and when you need them. Pro's - Sky don't have your card details. Con's - Can only watch on Apple TVs.

Or create a NOW TV account and then login with that and buy passes via NOW TV. Pro's watch on other devices as well, can get discounted passes (via Game, Currys, Argos or if you are willing to risk eBay).

Sorry to hijack - I was thinking of getting a sports pass and sharing it with my dad. Will that work or do they have location blocking?

You can register several devices at one time, but I don't think you'd be able to watch at the same time. So yes I would assume you could register you account at your dad's address, and and his TV/Box as another device.

Not sure wether SKY are keeping track and would block 2 TV's at 2 address's, but whose to say you don't flit between 2 address's. But it is morally wrong, and that's another matter.

You can have up to four devices on any one Now TV account and can use any two of those at the same time. What isn't so clear from the Now TV website in their Help section or the T&Cs is whether they do anything like IP address checking to ensure that both devices are on the same network and by implication the same location. That might have implications if you are both on independent broadband connections.

Mind you you can register mobile devices so there is a chance that you could be using two of those on 3/4G mobile data on different networks at the same time so perhaps they don't care as long as the devices are registered to the account?

Thanks Daren, a very useful link. The answer seems to be suck and and see, it probably is not that complicated in practice.

As regards Sky and BT sports on multple devices AIUI Sky allow three and BT two but you cannot stream to a full size TV. I would certainly be surprised if Now allow more than one TV at a time but with the new football season fast approaching there will, I am sure, be plenty of people trying to find ways round it.

You can watch NOW TV on any two devices at the same time at any location within the UK. It's been like this since the start, no need to wait and see.
