My TV24 app says "The final episode in the current run sees the arrival of spring in Eden" for tonight. Is it really only 4 episodes?!

Wow only 4 episodes, I was expecting a few more than that, just checked radiotimes for the 15th and there is no Eden at 9pm so looks like you are right.
Maybe the project was curtailed/aborted?

Sounds like they're looking to do say 4 series of four weeks each, covering different seasons. Spring, though? I thought we were already up to the end of May. If they'd said the arrival of Summer, it might make a little more sense.
So C4 is prepared to lose all the momentum and perhaps the audience by breaking the run up across a year? Not sure why they didn't look at running it next spring as a series of (say) eight one-hour eps. That would allow them to edit it with the knowledge of what happens during the majority of the project. All seems a bit weird!

I assumed we'd get groups of episodes with the seasons so maybe it will be back in three months or so.
Looks like they are stopping this run at end of May time in Eden and will return I would imagine with four more episodes in October or November. Good idea to sustain interest and some suspense in any case. |

Yep, you are spot on, as I said in a previous post, each episode was covering at least three weeks of time in the camp, so they were going to run right up to current events by episode five.

But then we would all be crying foul at the editors in London editing the storyline completely to their own tastes with a years content to cut and alter.
watching now... I can't believe they still have a full time masseur / masseuse / life coach !! |

I feel the opposite, I'd want them to get all the facts (film the year) then put together a great series that shows the most interesting events that represents what happens. It's not like a 'live stream' that shows everything no matter what. However they edit it, it's always going to be edited with someone's point of view.
watching now... I can't believe they still have a full time masseur / masseuse / life coach !! 1. 'survival', practical skills, growing and catching food, building shelters, community development /organisation type content .. and .. 2. human interactions (who fancies who, who thinks who's a waste of time, speculation on who ate all the pies...) I'd watch the former but the version we see has too much of the latter |

They could take all the footage and edit down to two separate series to suit those interested in the main stands:

I'm suggesting they make two series to be shown in parallel and we can choose to watch the one that interests us, or both.

Why doesn't the guy who said he could live on his own for the year, Glen i think his name is, go off and do it? Be self sufficient.

This reminds me of Douglas Adams' Golgafrincham B Arkhitchhikers guide to the galaxy Golgafrincham Quote:
... impending doom allowed the Golgafrinchans to rid themselves of an entire useless third of their population. The story was that they would build three Ark ships. Into the A ship would go all the leaders, scientists and other high achievers. The C ship would contain all the people who made things and did things, and the B ark would hold everyone else, such as hairdressers and telephone sanitisers. They sent the B ship off first, but of course the other two-thirds of the population stayed on the planet and lived full, rich and happy lives until they were all wiped out by a virulent disease contracted from a dirty telephone.
In a Survival situation, masseurs and Life Coaches are definitely not A Ark or C Ark material.

That’s hilarious, the ‘Life Coach’ is the first to leave because she doesn’t get on in the community - the worst life coach ever! That speech was absolutely disgusting, insulting people, even saying they had small dicks?? It was pathetic, she basically blamed everyone else for everything - AND had kept the biscuits for herself!
But if this is what the rest of the episodes (whenever that will be) are like, then they might as well move into the Big Brother house - just another a closed, filmed community with lots of bitching. |

She stood out in not pulling her weight though (so many complained of her laziness), so they are mostly all pitching in and doing what needs to be done. I'm glad I taped it since I could fast forward the slaughtering bits...ugh! |

Was really hoping that total bell-end Glenn, was going to walk out of the camp for good, the way he took the brush off, like a twelve-year-old was pathetic.
And is he an IT consultant or a gamekeeper, or a weekend warrior at both ? |

I wonder if the fact that these guys are all individuals makes a difference? In the Castaway series, there was at least one family. If you stick a group of individuals together, you will get the "settling in" phase (where the guys fight it out for alpha male and the pick of the females - we are still animals at heart!!) before you get the "settling down" phase, so I don't think a year is enough for them to form a stable community.
Tara was lazy and disrespectful. You have to earn respect, and in a primitive society, which is what this is, that means doing useful work, not lighting a few candles and doing a massage. She had no other use in the group, so it was as well that she left. Glenn misread the signals, poor guy - Caroline seems a lovely girl, but she was looking for a friend, not a lover. Not sure this series will come up with anything that we didn't know already. If the way we live now wasn't considerably better than contemplating digging up ants and eating them, we wouldn't be living it. |

Looks like there's plenty more drama to come next 'season', I personally think the mix is about right between survival skills and the social stuff, maybe a little more survival would be slightly better but I have to confess I enjoy watching all the human failings and drama too.
Tom's arrogance tho replying to Glen with "unfortunately mate I will do as I please around these parts.." what a toxic prick. |
