Oh he was well p1ssed off and very vocal to the other blokes . Another moment for me because he had presented himself to her as sweet and caring and cuddly , planning dinner dates etc . So his volte face when she partnered up with someone else was quite creepy and I thought "Ooh , Caggy , you dodged a bullet there for sure" . He made a few sneering comments about her/them .

I tell you what , the sexual games and manipulation is what will hit the group dynamics hardest and what will be their downfall . I'm quite surprised that a fair few of them are pairing off or clearly hoping to and we saw how the cook guy was preferencing his bit of totty regarding food . Oh yes he was .
Sexual games? Pretence?

In any situation where men and women are together, there will always be the element of attraction - this is natural and they are not monks or nuns! Plus their age group makes this even more the norm.

Of course there will , but it also needs to be accepted that a few WILL want to be as "monks or nuns" and in my opinion her choice of staying out of the sex discussions and games was as valid a choice as anyone elses' was to flirt and talk sex . Yes sexual games Amy . Tara said they were doing that "top three totty choices" and discussing sexual preferences . Not everyone is into that , and that will have alienated Tara right off the bat . I notice that Raphael (married with kids) also seems to be getting sidelined . No one wants to help him in the winter home build . Why ? I'd venture to say it's because he's not 'sexy' , as in happy to flirt and play silly games , so they find him boring and dull (even though he's good looking) , like Tara, who he actually palled up with due to mutual exclusion from the cool sexy kids .
Sex and food . That's what it boils down to .

Men seem to compete for alpha male stuff when together (unless gay/bisexual), e.g. strength, macho rating, who is more likely to get the best girl...it's all part of sizing each other up.

Re. Raphael - when the programme was first mentioned in Radio Times, the article described him as a 'loose cannon'. Do they mean he doesn't like to mingle so much? I did notice that he befriended the other outsider, Anton so maybe it has nothing to do with being married.

That seems highly unlikely. Tara used to be a model so is not unattractive! She clearly didn't do her share of work...it was not just the men noticing this.
Hang on Amy, just look at how Jasmine (Yoga instructor, another useful expert) and boyfriend of the geordie chef is treated, like a little princess.
And she is even more bone idle and useless than Tara.

And Aedin, you are spot on about Channel 4 being much like Channel 5, except Channel 5 is honest enough to have shows like Topless Darts just for the tits, not pretentious hipster bullcrap like Naked Attraction. Put their trousers back on and give them a dartboard Channel 4, you spoofers.

Is she? Where was the evidence for this, i.e. how do you know that? If she was more lazy than Tara, don't you think Tara (at least) would have said so - in her defense?

I can't tell if your joking, because I certainly was.
"Men also ostracise/try to bully women who they feel they have no chance with" is the dumbest generalisation I've read in a long time.
Let me spell it out for you then SOME men, you'd have to be a special kind of idiot to assume it applied to all men.

Well it did need qualifying. SOME men is not most men!!!

I doubt that a whole group of men would ostracise a woman they couldn't get...highly unlikely....more likely to make ineffective stupid comments that reveal why they stand no chance.

Is it possible to bully a woman you have no chance with? Odds being that she is brighter than that man i.e. one step ahead of him i.e. assertive. Ha!!!

So someone who disagrees with you is trolling.
And a female to disagrees with you is also a feminazi.

Ehhh ok, getting a bit weird on here with trolling and feminazi (would quite like a night with one of them meself, that would be a bit like Max Mosley I guess), comments being slung about.

Amy, Jasmine is flippin' useless beyond comprehension, her posh home counties patter and her cook boyfriend are keeping the heat off her, that is all.

How come it ended when they are there supposedly for a year, why not film it for a year. Some might say it would get boring on every week for a year, but then again I'd see it as more entertaining than most shows on these days still.

I suppose the advantage of letting us see a few months at a time, retrospectively, is that they can better present the highlights i.e. cut out the dross. (Some here may think it is mostly dross anyway though!)

Presumably, being Channel 4, they will be hoping the women will be stripping down (or off) with the hotter weather over the Summer.

No chance of that Amy, the bloke neanderthal club of Tom and co, would have run any lesbians off the settlement from the get go.

This hiatus could be a bit of an issue I was thinking. It gives the tabloids and disruptive members of the public a three month window to mess things up by encroaching on the camp.

I doubt that any intruders would get very far, i.e. I am sure they would be spotted before they made it to the precise location of where the camp is.

Who owns the land, would any intruders be trespassing? And if anyone turns up, would there be anyone (from the production crew) that could realistically stop them before they walk into the camp? I've no idea what the set up is, does anyone know approximately how big an area they have? I presume there's no fence around the perimeter.

so many questions...

True...many unknown factors but - even if someone made it to base camp - it wouldn't be aired. There is a lot to be said for editing!

Yes, it's all fenced off. They have planning permission to restrict access and operate the site as a designated film set for the duration. There was some stuff about the location and the planning application earlier in the thread.
