Yep, as a generation X'er, I can't quite get my head around the attitudes of the twentysomethings on the programme, (and I know they may not be representative at all).
There really is a huge contrast between most of them and Raphael and Anton, who are fortyish I am guessing.

As a society, if this selfish, do nothing for the wider good outlook seen on Eden is the way of the world, we all need to build winter shelters.

I think Anton's motives for building a winter camp are more to do with him breaking away from the main group, and setting himself up as the alpha male leader of a new group.

It was evident right from the start, he was the last to arrive and upon arriving he shouts 'hello', 'i'm just going to say hello to the goats' which struck me as odd, and to which someone shouted 'yeah get your priorities right!"

So he was uncomfortable from the start, maybe he thinks bonds within the group had formed before he'd even arrived and felt left out.
I might be wrong about him but I think there'll be trouble down the line.

I have to say most of them seem to be just there for a laugh and not to build a community. Anton, Raphael, the Vet and the Cook, seem to be the only ones with any sense so far ( although the last two seem to have been somewhat distracted once they struck up romances, especially the cook with the lazy girl). Mind you we haven't, as yet, been introduced to some of the 23, perhaps because they wanted to concentrate on the confrontations and the relationships. Unfortunately the younger generation nowadays are so used to Big Brother and the like I'm sure some of them are just doing it for the celebrity of it.

They just weren't listening to Anton when he tried to explain about the winter, the winds etc. Common sense tells you to think before you build somewhere. Also they don't seem to have been rationing the food or anything, there can't be an unlimited supply until their veg grows. No sign of any fishing yet either. I just don't feel much common sense is being used at all. I wouldn't want to be marooned on a desert island with most of them.

I agree with the last post and would add the plumber guy who is very hard-working and important for the group too. The problem now is the vet and the cook are smitten with two of the girls that are just there for the "experience" and may side with that total ass, the Extreme Sports trainer chap, with the minge-like beard, his name is not worth recalling. He thinks everything is working perfectly.

They will starve if Channel 4 does not airdrop them food in the winter or just quit more likely.

How long before pictures in one of the tabloids of them in a local pub or even in the luxury hotel?

I really hope not, as Bear (Five Star) Grylls is not involved with Eden.
Although, that is a seriously nice looking hotel, is it near to where the Eden settlement is situated on that peninsula ?

It's on the opposite side.

I think anton just wants to live on this own so if a few people moved in with him he would end up moving again just to be alone

I'd just like to thank channel 4 for picking a bunch of likable people who seem to have a genuine interest in survival.

I was beginning to think I just hated everyone, since the recent tv trend for reality shows seems to be to pick the most irritating, thick people they can find- well either that, or they're the only ones who apply.

I hope the practical side continues.

I was thinking that, but maybe they've just not shown much of it? Must be fairly heavily edited since they're there so long.

They eat potatoes for weeks and not one of them went to get seaweed or scrambled around the rocks for cockles or whatever they could find !
Are the sheep and pigs for decoration ? Why didnt they slaughter one ? No one thought to go hunting for rabbits ?
But strangers pop by with chocolate !!! Hahaha we are supposed to believe that
Its BB on an island nothing more !

It's nothing like BB...

They did kill a pig in the last episode but guess they can't keep killing them without breeding more first.

It is in my opinion . An experiment in group living and the dynamics that evolve . I should say like the original BB. , not the tripe it is now

There are several words I would use to describe Tom "adventure instructor", but total bell-end is about the only one printable here. He is a gossipy old woman disguised as a bloke. The lowest sort of human, who takes pleasure in making other people feel bad.

I'm glad you mentioned this as I thought I had dreamed it.I couldn't understand why they were going on about the lack of protein, as they slaughtered a large pig last week. Where has it gone? Surely they haven't eaten all of it already? Did I miss them actually eating it too? I have a suspicion that they ate quite a lot and then the rest went rotten because they had failed to explore salting and smoking options.
To me they are a bunch of kids mostly, more worried about the lack of baccy and chocolate than anything practical. And the life coach - what is that exactly? Somebody who whoops a lot, shouts 'come on guys' and 'high five!' all the time, and does b****r all else.
