Was this filmed last year? March 2015 to March 2016? Or is it happening now? Surely they're not planning to show it every week from now until March?

I didn't watch this last night assuming it would be on catch up, but I can't see it.

I'm glad you mentioned this as I thought I had dreamed it.I couldn't understand why they were going on about the lack of protein, as they slaughtered a large pig last week. Where has it gone? Surely they haven't eaten all of it already? Did I miss them actually eating it too? I have a suspicion that they ate quite a lot and then the rest went rotten because they had failed to explore salting and smoking options.
To me they are a bunch of kids mostly, more worried about the lack of baccy and chocolate than anything practical. And the life coach - what is that exactly? Somebody who whoops a lot, shouts 'come on guys' and 'high five!' all the time, and does b****r all else.
A life coach is someone who helps the client to solve areas of their life. She is American and felt somewhat alienated from our UK culture (as she said). Clearly she is feeling a bit low so cut her some slack! At least she gives massages!

Anton is still pretty much the only likeable and sensible one in there with the exception of Raphael.
The rest, what a bunch of whiny irritating fools. How can a pro fisherman have been on the island for that long and not caught any fish? Who made that bellend Tom the leader? Why was making a gym more of a priority than sorting out the food?

Seriously i doubt this lot could survive a week in Centre Parcs.

Strangely addictive viewing though, but mainly for the live Twitter feed when the show is on!

I'd just like to thank channel 4 for picking a bunch of likable people who seem to have a genuine interest in survival.

I was beginning to think I just hated everyone, since the recent tv trend for reality shows seems to be to pick the most irritating, thick people they can find- well either that, or they're the only ones who apply.
Please tell me you were being ironic?

That would be fine if the programme was Love Island...it is supposed to be a serious project about survival....did you miss that?

There are several words I would use to describe Tom "adventure instructor", but total bell-end is about the only one printable here. He is a gossipy old woman disguised as a bloke. The lowest sort of human, who takes pleasure in making other people feel bad.
Its the fact he's assumed himself as leader that annoys me, that and his arrogance of course, classic that someone like him would take the reigns this early on.

Because the show is meant to be about how they survive. They are all really unlikeable people bar a couple.

I disagree, I think they're a nice enough bunch bar a couple, none of them are survival experts so I wouldnt expect them to be able to skin, gut and process a pig properly, they have however built a hot shower, kitchen, toilet, tee-pee etc so I think they're doing pretty well on balance.

As for the gift that was left for them, maybe it was some strangers, I'd like to think so and even if it wasnt I certainly wouldnt begrudge them a couple of chocolate bars etc when they'd been existing on a diet of basically potatoes for so long.

Maybe some people were expecting a bunch of Ray Mears and Bear Gryllis experts to show us how its all done but that would be a different kind of show after all.

Not ironic at all. I think there are some great people there, especially compared to most recent reality shows, and to say they're in a more harsh environment than say, Big Brother, there's bound to be a bit of drama.

But they have their priorities all wrong. Building a sauna and a gym is hardly essential. they haven't caught any fish or grown any veg yet! They all seem to think htey are 'pretty cool' but none of them are very mature.

Agree.

Should have got a wider age range to begin with though.

I don't begrudge them treats but, thenagain, it is cheating i.e. makes a mockery of what the project is. Do you get that?

To answer my own question, from looking online it seems that they've been there from March this year. Not sure I can be doing watching this every week for 40 weeks or whatever the plan is!

I didn't watch this last night assuming it would be on catch up, but I can't see it.
It's repeated on C4 23:35 tomorrow, if that helps.

Catching up. I'm still supporting Anton because it seems that nobody there is. The chocolate part was a joke.

Seeing next weeks preview it looks laughable

It was! As last night a big part of the show kept on about the cravings the cast were having for food as they were being fed just potatoes for weeks on end.

It was mostly sugar cravings and many went to camera saying the feelings were so overwhelming they couldn't think of anything else.

Anyway the boat that 'mysteriously' turned up twice on the shore and left a package the second time,it mainly contained chocolate bars and what looked like one small bottle of beer.

When it got brought back to camp it was opened to lots of 'o my god' but they never actually showed anyone eating any of the bounty!

Strange.

Newspaper reports say filmed this year so continuing at the moment - they are asking people to keep away from the area.

Well maybe we didn't see them eating chocolate because, after it was all shared out it might have been such a tiny quantity to 'gorge' on!

Woman craving chocolate is not just about the sugar. Chocolate has a fairly good iron content which is very welcome at a certain time of the month (to deplete reserves).

If anyone is interested in the local chat, the Facebook page for Ardnamurchan is talking about Eden, and there's a few bits about the chocolate drop.

Strange the police getting involved, they are usually very quick to say that no law has been broken so nothing to do with them. I can't any possible laws being broken by someone chatting up the girls and leaving them chocolate.

Ok. I eat 85% cocoa dark chocolate and crave it normally,so they must have been in agony!

Poor souls.

Maybe the programme makers were getting shirty, but no, I'm amazed at the police getting involved. Unless they have nothing else to do up there.
