Maybe the programme makers were getting shirty, but no, I'm amazed at the police getting involved. Unless they have nothing else to do up there.

Was this filmed last year? March 2015 to March 2016? Or is it happening now? Surely they're not planning to show it every week from now until March?
Each programme seems to cover about three weeks as they we are now up Mid-April. I imagine that will facilitate a number of little breaks in the series, for example when Humans and other big shows return. An unbroken run for eleven months would get a bit boring to say the least. |

I was astonished to see a group of girls swimming in the loch in March. It must be freezing in there at that time of year.

Clearly C4 have learned nothing from Castaway 2000. They should not have announced this show until the year was over. Now they'll get numerous wannabees invading the camp looking for their 15 minutes of fame.
Eden seems a little too populated by bright young things to be a real social experiment and, predictably, they are already thinking more about coupling up than survival. Whilst Castaway 2000 was somewhat less about real survival, it felt more real and interesting. It's a shame they've never rerun that show. |

"Numerous wannabees" can't invade the camp unless they are taken on and that remains to be seen. I guess there might be a capacity to take on some potentials when/if some members drop out but they will need to have some skills i.e. not just be eye candy.

Noticed a few smokers in Eden, bet they haven't got a full years supply of tobacco. Could get interesting if they have to all quit at once.

All these things, along with the chocolate drop-off wouldn't be so bad if they hadn't advertised the show as back to basics with absolutely no help. |

Speaking about smoking I was disappointed the campers were allowed to bring in 66litres of personal goods like tobacco and junk food. I'd be more impressed if these people had started weaning themselves off these things they crave/are addicted to in preparation for the show.

Did they say 'with absolutely no help'? I don't remember that - I am sure it would have stood out to me if that is the case.

The camp he is building is for 8 people..for that snow we saw in the preview. I'm biased anyway he's my favourite
I don't equate building a community as having to all live under one roof, also there was a lot of moaning that he was taking materials etc to build the winter lodge, a lodge that slept 8 so not all for him, that what they had was meant for everyone, well by that reasoning then he was only taking what he was entitled to, a share of what was available, Personally I would rather spend time with him than the somewhat airy fairy and very lazy imo Tara or the yogo instructor girl |

I am sure there is some kind of strategy in place to prevent that. If not, the wannabes are hardly likely to be televised anyway.

Apparently they've built a long fence right around the compound (which has p1ssed of the locals.
I don't think they described it as "back to basics with absolutely no help", hence them being allowed to take in anything they could carry. It's not a start from scratch show with no modern knowledge/devices/utensils like 10,000 BC was. They've not been stripped of 21st century possessions or clothing/boots. It's just a case of being dropped off there with whatever they could pack in their rucksacks along with whatever they were provided with to start them off (building materials, food, seeds, livestock etc) and see what happens over the course of the year. |

I'm sure there are medics on hand in case a tree falls on someone. Same with all these so called survival programmes. The goats are set to be nothing but trouble now they've been treated like cats and are into everything.

They are bound to make mistakes since it would seem none of them have experience in dealing with livestock. For example, the vet is accustomed to treating sick animals but obviously didn't have the foresight to ensure that the chicken feed was safely out of grasp (even though he knew that the goat was unable to digest it)...hence why the goat succumbed to it and consequently died.
That young vet, as I pointed out before, may have only done a years practice since vet school. He is now lovestruck as well, so he even less useful to the farm animals. |

If anyone is interested in the local chat, the Facebook page for Ardnamurchan is talking about Eden, and there's a few bits about the chocolate drop.
https://www.facebook.com/kilchoan/?ref=ts&fref=ts Thanks for that link (and posters who've made other informative links) Very interesting, and what a beautiful place it looks. I'm not so cynical about it as some others on here (YET ) and really enjoyed it. (Just watched both progs on catch-up)

Just a thought but I did wonder if when the goat died whether they ate it or not? Would it have been edible if it died of bloating anyone know?
I also wondered if this was going to go on until next March. Would get boring if do. Reference people invading the camp now it is public knowledge they are there. I guess if that little boat got there then others could as well unless the TV crew are patrolling the waters as well. |

I can't imagine them patrolling, probably put the word out locally about the Section 11 exemption so the biggest risk would be a yachtie mooring there without realising that it was banned. There are time limits on exemptions so I would not thought that they would ask for any longer than they need. The big question will be what Channel 4 would do if viewing figures plummeted.
