In your armpit on a midsummer morning, I believe.

Their own stupid fault, little to no sympathy.

I was a little too old to get into Pokemon and so I haven't been swept up in the craze. I think it's cool that people are out walking around, socializing and seeing their neighborhoods. Seems pretty harmless and fun.
It's good. I imagine it's got a lot of gamers who don't do much exercise, and sitting indoors usually, hiking around and meeting new people.

I can understand the fears some have about kids walking around remote areas alone, but so long as they go in a group (perhaps with supervision depending on their age), it's good exercise for them too.

My two sons are pokemon daft and would always pester us to get them the latest 3ds title for Christmas. So, when this was released last week, I had a feeling they would both want to be pokemon hunters. My wife and I downloaded it on our phones, and on Saturday evening we took a walk around...Took all day to get logged on...

My eldest son knows the pokemon well and had been reading up on it. So, he knew straight away how to use the incense.. He seemed to be catching pokemon all the way up the street. My youngest and I didn't have a clue and would be looking at the map in some confusion. Also, whenever I used the incense with my phone (S5) it didn't seem to work, as when I had a look at the items they were both still there. However, on Sunday, they had disappeared, so god knows what was going on.

However, it has caused a few arguments with my boys, as the youngest wants to use my wifes phone when out an about due to my oldest catchin more on that phone. Also, around lunch time at the weekend, we could not log in to the servers, and it looks like the game only loads for us in the morning or evening. The game has probably got so many people at certain times trying to connect, that it's going to lose it's appeal very quickly unless they can up their capacity soon. The game kept crashing on my wife's phone, and with the incense carry on with my phone, I think they have got a long way to go before they've ironed out the bugs.

The good thing about this game, for me, is that it actually meant my wife and I could take a walk with the boys without them moaning about walking anywhere. They were so keen to get out and about. We also got to go out for lunch yesterday for the first time in ages.

I think eventually, the pokemon fans will get a game they can play once the hype has died down and the bandwagon jumpers tire of it. As someone who doesn't really like Pokemon (wrong era for me) I found it a good way to get out and about with the kids without them moaning. Don't ask me what the pokemon are though because, I couldn't really give a flying pidgie.

To call yourself SegaGamer and then go all Meldrewey about a gaming subject.. I'm disappointed.
It's a thinly-veiled sonic-v-mario superiority thing, the true damage of the 90s console wars was not just the tantrums and thrown cartridges, but the lasting psychological effects which manifest themselves long after the uneasy truce was declared and it inevitable that feelings are close to the surface on what was unquestionably the most emotive issue of the last 50 years.

I feel as though I'm the only one not playing it? I'm old enough to remember Red, Blue and Yellow on the Gameboy.

Next time you can assure them that different phones don't affect how many Pokemon you catch.
I would imagine that maybe the incense couldn't be used due to another being in effect, but I don't really know much about the game mechanics.

It's basically Geo-Caching but made more mainstream.

The generation that complained that the older generation destroyed their future by voting for Brexit are currently chasing imaginary cartoon characters.

So, 'natural selection' is still an ongoing process for the Human race.

The next instalments in the main series (Pokémon Sun & Moon) are out in Oct/Nov-ish I think, there has been some indication that they might sync with Go. The bugs are horrendous IMO, but there are plans to introduce pokés from all generations into Go, currently you can only catch a small percentage of the total number of Pokémon. Hopefully the issues'll be ironed out as the potential is there.

Your translation is shockingly bad, that should be 'undahyarahm' and temporally local to the estival solstice whilst ensuring an antemeridianal solar positioning.

I'm playing it and enjoying it, when the servers are working. It's just a bit of fun that's getting people outside and walking, I can't see why anyone would be against that.

The people complaining about it are annoying me. So you're not a pokemon fan and don't get the appeal just ignore it, don't take pride in taking the piss out of people who are enjoying themselves. I can't stand Harry Potter ( I know) and unsurprisingly it's everywhere online (especially at the moment with the new stuff going on.) But instead of complaining I just ignore it.

That's not aimed at anyone on here (all I've seen here is light ribbing about it), it's more on Facebook I've seen the complaining, plus the morning show on the radio station we listen to at work seemed to be taking pleasure out of taking the piss this morning.

Actually I have to confess I got a bit petty at the weekend on Facebook about it. My Dad's partner put up a post complaining about how dull it was and wishing people would stop talking about pokemon. I ignored that but when she replied to a post my sister shared with some pokemon art with "zzzzz" I got a bit mad, so I shared about 5 webpages with pokemon articles on one after the other

I wish people would shut up about it to be honest. I hate it when fads like this get going.
Yet you came willing into a thread called "Pokemon Go"

You should just ignore anything what sega gamer says, most of his posts on here are him deliberately winding people up so he can get a reaction out of them.

Has anyone had any luck with the whole nicknaming Eevee thing to influence what it'll evolve into it? Got one at the minute and I really hope it evolves into a Jolteon 😩

What moves does it know? I didn't realise my Zubat wouldn't keep its moves when I evolved it into Golbat.

@wef0undl0ve Apparently that trick works, but you can't evolve to the same poké consecutively. If it knows Dig with no nickname it evolves into Flareon.

Brave words from the man who spends most of his time in the Big Brother forum.

You say Pokemon Go is a fad, and you might be right, but I'm all for anything that puts videogames at the forefront of popular culture.

In the past, gaming was often perceived as a pastime for the socially inept, wasting their time in the bedroom with their digital toys. I remember a time when friends and family looked down on my silly hobby. Now, large numbers of my colleagues, friends, family..... even my Mother, regularly play games in one form or another.

Videogames are continuing to prove themselves as a valid form of entertainment. With VR around the corner, we might be about to start a whole new chapter.

Bring it on, I say.
