Niantic have confirmed that over the next week they'll be banning all the bots and spoofers. Apparently they're already able to identify who is spoofing and botting, because people who spoof their location don't have a z-co-ordinate. So there you go, only a few more days and all the hackers will be gone.
As for me, I've hit a wall at 76 Pokémon caught, I haven't caught anything new in days now and egg hatching seems to be the only way to progress now - and even then you obviously aren't guaranteed anything good. I'm currently on holiday in Edinburgh for the Fringe Festival so here's hoping Scotland can provide Pokémon that the suburbs around London don't. Certainly enjoying the lack of Drowzee up here so far! |

I left my local area for the first time yesterday and hit the marina in town. Managed to go from ~180 magikarp candy to 400+ plus and evolved my Magikarp and powered it up to max level. Still isn't higher than my max powered up vaporeon though
![]() I've now got a ~2100 vaporeon and a ~2000 gyarados. Have enough candy to fully evolve poliwag but I don't have one good enough so will have to hold off for now. |

Up in Scotland for the Edinburgh Fest, visited some random town on the East coast and got Cubone, Vulpix, Hitmonchan, Mankey, Machoke and Hitmonlee. I was only there for about 45 minutes, that town was a complete godsend, have never once seen any of those in London

I'm about that point, hit 70 and basically new catches come eggs, and then the evolution that comes from those.
I can see why I come across so many trainers in gyms at level 24 - I've no idea where to start in terms of getting further - potions are scarce and my powerful mons are wiped out returning from gyms. It'll be more than a handful of lure sessions, some training and a lot of hatches before I can progress. |

This is true, unless the nests change again. I saw Growlithe for the first time in the wild today, and got enough candy to evolve one I hatched into a decent Arcanine. Voltorb, too - very uncommon around me until this weekend.

I suspect they will bring back the footstep tracker thing if they can get it fixed, I think it was a case of the issues with getting it taken off in the update rather than not wanting it. Voltorb is weird. Only had 1, and that was in area which was basically full of water pokemon, then it appeared. I'm finding major landmarks such as stations are good, tend to get rarer ones, got a few Dratini, Onix and missed out on a Porygon recently at 1 station |

That makes more sense now... There's a level 37 owning the gym here right now.
I have very much enjoyed the game, but I've played it now and like any game, it's pretty much over. I've got 94 Pokemon and any more would be a hideous hideous grind and that's simply no fun. |

I'm focussing on eggs, they might fill in the gaps, which they seem to with suspicious regularity but also the candies they provide help evolutions. I've had 3 Bellsprouts, but as all 3 were from eggs I've had enough to get a Weepinbell

I've never seen Dratini or its evolutions in the wild! As you go up in level I think hatches change quite dramatically. I'm now hatching Pikachu/Clefairy from 2km eggs sometimes. Even with decent CP, I can't make my hatched Onix work for me/my team. I'd waste stardust powering it up, and there are other mons that can do a better job and have more potential (the Geodude family). It's a shame that Onix's second stage wasn't available in the first generation. Steelix is much more useful, can cover its weaknesses and can land some huge hits on Fairy types. |

Just had my first Bulbasaur in the wild, it ran after 1 ball
![]() I've hatched one from an egg before but it's still disheartening when I could be 3 steps closer to an Ivysaur. |

Officially have all 3 Eeveelutions now
Finished up the trinity by acquiring a Flareon with 1327 CP, with moves even more powerful than my Vaporeon, extremely pleased with it ![]() But now, I just know that all my 10km eggs from now until the end of time are more inclined to be Eevee.. |

I haven't had one Eevee from a 10k, but a smattering of useless Scythers instead. There don't seem to be many Jolteon about at the gyms.
Someone at Niantic seems to have it out for electric types, because of all the types in Pokémon Go, they're both the most limited (but that's due to Gen 1 barely having any Electric types) and they're also among the weakest Pokémon. For instance, my Vaporeon was 992CP from a 350CP Eevee, with insanely high speed, great HP levels, Water Gun which does 6 damage and Water Pulse for 35 damage. Conversely, Jolteon - also from a 350CP Eevee - only got up to 645CP with less than great speed, okay HP stats, Thunder Shock which does 5 damage but hits nowhere near as fast as Water Gun and Thunderbolt which does 55 damage but doesn't charge as fast as Water Pulse. He's totally outclassed by my Vaporeon, even though both came from the same levelled Eevee. As for my Flareon though, 1327CP, fantastic HP, Ember for 10 damage and Flamethrower with 55 damage. I've yet to use Flareon in battle though, but I'm assuming because of the high amount of Vaporeons in gyms, I get the feeling even my Flareon might still be outclassed by my Vaporeon. |

It's become clear to me that despite being my favourite Eeveelution by a country mile, Jolteon just isn't made for this game

Water has always been a bit overpowered IMO, resisting Ice AND Steel (among all its other qualities)?! I have two Flareon, my first eeveelution and one I got later. I find them handy to stick in a gym where its typing will support other players' mons. Vaporeon is a jack-of-all-trades, good at fighting, can defend itself, good power and health. They're so bloody ubiquitous in Go. |

Playing this game in the middle-of-nowhere Rural Scotland has made me realise that playing in rural areas is a MUCH better experience than playing in the city (London).
Sure, the rural areas make it seem like you're getting a significantly less amount of Pokémon (you get - at best - 4 Pokémon on your radar at a time), but the amount of diversity is absolutely amazing. I've been up here for just over a day now and caught Machop, Mankey, both Hitmonchan and Hitmonlee, Rapidash, Nidoking, Rhydon, Machoke, Clefairy, 6 Bulbasaurs and 4 Squirtles, enough Eevee to evolve to a Flareon and finally, just 5 minutes ago, I got the very best prize of all when a 1264CP Kabutops spawned. I seriously never thought I'd see one of those, so when I randomly decided to check the app at 3 in the morning only to have Kabutops instantly spawn in was amazing ![]() ![]() And a fair portion of the Pokémon I just listed spawned right in front of my face right within the cottage I rented out, because nothing else is around for miles, so they spawn on top of you instead. It feels like a totally different game than when you play in London, where you have to walk over 20 miles to experience something that *isn't* Drowzee, Rattata and Pidgey. |

My friends and I are convinced that somebody at Niantic messed up the stats when it came to Vaporeon, because as it stands, it's currently the 2nd most powerful available Pokémon in the entire game, with only Dragonite (and eventually Articuno, Moltres, Mew and Mewtwo) beating it out. That's right, I didn't miss out Zapdos, Vaporeon is literally set to be more powerful than Zapdos, which is ludicrous.

Isn't there more Eeveeloutions coming in future Generations.
From what I have read there are 8 in the other (3DS) games and cartoon and maybe more planned in future games. Gen 2 has Umbreon and Espeon Gen 4 has Leafeon and Glaceon Gen 6 has Sylveon. I'm not particularly inclined to go out of my way to stocking up on Eevee candy now when Gen 2 won't be released until December and god knows about the other generations, but of course I will catch them if they happen to pop up! |

POKÉMON GO HAS FIXED ITS TRACKING SYSTEM, THIS IS NOT A DRILL
I mean, it's different, but it works! So what you have now is a "Sighting" system, which has replaced the "Near By" portion of the screen, and has patches of grass in place of footprints. The difference being that, when a Pokémon appears, it instantly appears on your "Sighting", and when it despawns, it instantly drops off your "Sighting system". This means you'll no longer be chasing Pokémon who likely despawned 15 minutes ago, all Pokémon that show up on your sighting system are there and ready to be caught ![]() ![]() Also, the "Sightiing" groups together repeat Pokémon. So basically, rather than looking at a "Near By" screen that shows you have 9 Pidgey in the area, you'll now be looking at a "Sighting" screen which may show, for example, Raticate, Machop and Bellsprout. But in reality, there may be multiple of each for you to catch. It's just a nice way of getting rid of the clutter which I think was a nice move by Niantic. All in all, very pleased. Genuinely was not expecting this mess to be sorted so soon. Mad props to Niantic over the past few days, they really seem to have pulled their thumbs out. |
