I downloaded it. Played it for an hour then got bored. I did find meowth on one of the busiest roundabouts in the county. I wonder how long it is before someone gets run over or falls down a hole.
Still I wish I bought some shares in nintendo last week. |

I can't be fussed with the fuss of downloading the US/AUS version on my iPhone, so I'll just wait for the UK release, but what are the starters, and how does this game actually work? Is it like the handheld games in the sense that you level up your Pokémon, they learn new moves and then evolve at a certain level?
* Can you stop Pokémon from evolving (and in turn, learn other moves quicker - like the handheld games)? * How do we choose the evolution of Eevee? * What are the starter Pokémon? I'm going to need an Infernape. * As per the handheld games, are you limited to six per your team? Where are others 'stored'? Edit: How are Pokémon healed? There's no Poke centres? Evolution is a separate option so purely choice, but you need candy to evolve, by catching the same pokemon. I believe the Eevee evolution is random, but only to the original three. Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur, but people say if you walk away when choosing, after 4 time you get pikachu. You don't battle in teams, only one on one. Potions, which only heal 20hp and don't come often. |

So I left to go to the gym which had one free space for a pokemon, within 2 minutes of leaving my home the space had been taken. So I went there to battle to raise prestige and open a new one. So here is my huge problem with the game.
Battling f***ing sucks. My pokemon was 100cp more than the one at the gym, yet in 8 battles I won twice. The whole battle system sucks, swipe to dodge and it is random if it works, tap to attack, swipe to dodge, if it works. It's way too random and way too crappy. They need it turn based like the games. Plus, I used 7-8 potions, getting them is too difficult, when you can fight at the gyms they need to give more. |

You level them up with candy, which you get by catching more of the same pokemon and trading them in. You don't choose moves.

Only those four starters, and only three Evolutions? Am I right in thinking Pokémon Go (currently) only applies to the Kanto Dex (151 Pokémon?)
Thank You for answers too. ![]() Quote:
You can also get super potions, which heal 50hp, from around level 10 or so.

Yeah, purely the original 151 at the moment. I am sure in the future they will add more.

I'm sure they'll add more too, though they need something to revitalize the game in 6-12 months, so the following generation will likely come then. Do Master Balls exist in this game? Going to need one of them for the Legendary's.

GREAT BALLS AND ULTRA BALLS
Once you reach the appropriate levels, you'll unlock access to Great Balls and Ultra Balls. Unlike the standard Poke Balls, these Poke Balls cannot be purchased in the shop but will be given to you as a reward for leveling up. You can also get them randomly at PokeStops. Great Balls will start appearing after level 12 in both level rewards and PokeStops. Ultra Balls will start appearing after level 20 in both level rewards and PokeStops. |

The good and bad thing about living in a place with pretty much nothing - there's only one gym and one Pokemonstop in walking distance. LOL

That sucks. I live in a small town of only 10k, I have 10 stops and 2 gyms that I can see on the map.

im wondering about how they decide which random pokemon to show.
Got a grimer this morning, after a short walk. Does distance covered affect the variety of pokemon you get? |

On iOS does this app use its own cloud based login? I don't wanna download it on the US store and progress only to have it become available in the uk in the next few days and download it again starting from scratch again if you know what I mean..

Saw a guy talking about this game on Bloomberg. He said it's so successful you could use it as the basis of a new social media platform. Let people chat and share stuff etc.

Caught a Magmar and a Bulbasaur in CostCo! Pokemon like the frozen food aisles for some reason
I do love how random the choices can be in some places.

My 5km egg hatched and I got an 11cp male nidoran, plus I reached level 6 and got given a free incubator, that only has 3 uses, so I chucked my 10km egg in my infinite one and a 2km egg in the new one.

I can see some more modern, trendy or hipster coffee shops/restaurants becoming "lure zones" - apparently they just buy lots of lures to encourage people to visit them

The potential is huge. Trading pokemon is obviously the next big step.

For people who did the trick with the US App Store:
I've done the same but can't buy anything yet cos it's registered as a US app, if I delete it and get it when it's out in UK App Store would I still keep all my progress as it'll be registered to my google email won't it? |

Maybe they were running away from you ? 😃
Saw a Psyduck 2 footsteps away and figure out where it was roughly. Decided that even though it was near 12 I would go anyway, but I didn't get closer. I caught a pidgey and weedle instead, just 5 candies away from evolving pidgeotto to pidgeot. Once I got home I saw someone had left a lure at a nearby pokestop but it's too late now and it could be someone trying the stealing thing this time of night. |
