In case anyone's interested, Insert Coin Clothing now have a pop-up Pokémon shop set-up in The Old Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, London, which is open from today until August 30th.

Inside they have tons of merchandise, with shirts dedicated to the 3 starters, Professor Oak, the region of Kanto, Magikarp, Snorlax, Team Rocket, Jigglypuff and Pikachu, plus jackets featuring the Kanto Region and other cool stuff.

There's also a member of the Pikachu Squad present, so you'll be able to get a photo (and even a dance in our case) with Pikachu himself. Plus they have New 3DS' plugged into the walls allowing you to play all the Pokémon games, and also featured are the first look at the Pokémon Go Plus (I was told by a cashier that this was currently the only working one available in Europe) and also featured are all the Gen 1 Games (RBY) and their Japanese counter parts, in their boxes all on display.

Oh and there's plenty of Pokéstops with active lures nearby so it'll help with Pokémon Go too.

Would recommend, it's a nice place.

I'm now trying to find decent IV poliwag. I'm up to around 350 candy but have nothing better than ~60%. Hoping to roll a bubble/hydropump wrath and then I can add another pokemon to the list I've maxed out.”

You are actually holding gyms for over 24 hours to be able to get coins? You must have absurdly high Pokemon or seriously sparsely visited gyms.

You don't need to hold for 24 hours. I have 6 gyms that I can see on the map from my house and hit them starting from the closest and ending at the furthest gym. Sometimes I'll skip one as I have to walk in the opposite direction to get it, but I always hit atleast 5 of them. When the furthest gym is done I'll claim my coins, unless something has been taken and I feel like doubling back on myself.

You don't get coins for just winning gyms, you have to hold them unless something has changed recently

Must be different versions, wasn't like that on mine. I looked because it was an otherwise largely pointless feature. But useful to know, even if the reward is trivial

I have been playing this pretty lazily (no gyms) but have reached level 20. Over the last few weeks it's just been never-ending Drowsee, Rattatas, Pidgy and Weedle.... but this morning on the bus on the way to work I found three new Pokemon!

All very strange that they appeared within minutes of each other.... it must be feeling sorry for me!

No different versions at all, taking a gym down just gives you XP. Joining a gym is what entitles you to collect 10 coins from the shop.

Caught a dragonite yesterday, A nidoking and a graveller was also in the area, but could not track it down 😢. Needless to say I was thrilled with the dragonite and the adorable growlithe that I also snagged. 😆

Hatched a 100% poliwag last night and fully evolved it to Poliwrath with bubble and submission. Not ideal but still its second best moveset. Maxed him out to 2040 CP.

Then today I hatched a ~85% poliwag and it rolled bubble and hydro pump when evolved. Also hatched a ~95% slowpoke and it had confusion and water pulse. Powered both up to level 25 so I now have 3 decent gym defenders.

Caught my first Mr Mime today. Ugly thing but worth it

Yet another hatched poliwag today, came in at 95% IVs. After waiting 3-4 weeks to get my first they're flooding in now :|
Wanting to hatch an exegcute now as I haven't seen one in the wild and have only hatched 2 so don't have enough to evolve - and exegutor is one of the top tier pokemon. Wouldn't mind growlithes as again they're top tier and have seen very few in the wild. I've had enough candy to evolve but need more candy to power up my arcanine to max.

Also hatched my 3rd hitmonchan of the week, making it 5x Eevee, 3x Hitmonchan, 1x Electabuzz and 1x Jynx from my last 10 10k eggs.

Caught Lapras today! Was having lunch when 20 to 30 people ran past and two guys said "holy shit Lapras"
I haven't moved that fast since high school!

Took 5 ultra balls but i now have a Lapras to call my own, 1620 with ice beam.

They seriously need to address the need to keep the app live and open, they should allow it be open in the background but not on screen to measure distance at least. The battery use is silly now not to mention to the irritance of keeping the app open and stopping buttons being pressed.

I can live with some features not working if its on in the background, but simply measuring distance I dont see why it cant work. GPS can be on without an app open

That really annoys me, I use Runkeeper everyday, sometimes while using Pokemon Go, and I can leave it in the background while it monitors my location and speed perfectly. Fitbit can do the same so it's more than possible.

The battery life is driving me mad. After the last big update it seemed to get better but if I open Pokemon when my battery is less than 70-80% more often than not I lose 20% of my battery within the first 30 seconds, no other app does that.

Haven't played in over a week because I was growing tired at the lack of new Pokemon. Opened the app on my way to work, nothing but Drowzees and Pidgeys everywhere. I even put a lure down and three Pidgeys appeared at once.

Niantic has confirmed the next update, due in the forthcoming week or so, will implement a "Buddy" feature, allowing you to pick your favourite Pokémon and walk with it, which will allow you to gain candy for that specific Pokémon per distance walked, making evolving specific Pokémon much, much easier.

You'll also be able to view this Pokémon by your trainer avatar on the Trainer screen and in Gyms, and you can swap out your "Buddy" pokémon for another whenever you feel like.

Personally I think this is by far and away the best update yet and could really help pretty much everyone help get those hard to acquire 'mons like Dragonite, Charizard and Gyarados simply by walking a set distance.

I mainly just hatch eggs so the new update is going to be perfect for me.

It depends on how much, its needs a minimum of a candy per km, enough to help get evolutions without being too easy. I still think the running live issue is the biggest one out there, especially if they are increasing the emphasis on walking even morr

As someone that has hatched 300+ eggs I'm really looking forward to this. I like to make the most of my walking so having a buddy gaining candy all the time will be a nice addition.

A few reports circulating it will take between 1 and 3 km to get a candy based on Pokémon rarity. Sound about right, I think it should be a way to get a Pokémon over the evolution line rather than waiting for pot luck of eggs or visiting a particular area. Think it would spoil it if it was too easy.

I'm creeping towards 100 caught, on 94 and I reckon another 11 are within an eggs worth of candy. My mission to get a Gyrados by evolution is almost there, up to 320 candy and I seem to be seeing more and more Magikarp. I wonder if they have upped their appearance probability to help people out, 400 candy is huge even with visits to water heavy area.

I'm on 108 caught but it's really 107 as I've got x2 Pikachu, I'm quite some way off with 182 Magikarp candies.
We've found a spot nearby next to a car park that seems to always have some random Pokemon we've not seen before. It was very quiet there a month or so ago but it seems words gotten around and the car park is quite busy during the evenings now.

It's funny now, I prioritise using Great Balls on Magikarps because I have so many as I pass loads of Pokestops regularly so am always on my item limit. Seems silly but I'm finding the higher level ones do reject pokeballs regularly
