There are reports of people getting more than 1 candy occaisonally, whether thats a mistake or a little bonus is unclear.

Also reports out there that there will be an update to incense, seems like different variations will be introduced.

I only needed three candies to evolve a Staryu, so set that as my buddy. I got to 2.5 km. the I hatched an egg and got, yes you guessed it, a Staryu.
Now changed to Dratini, who knows it might encourage some of them to hatch.

Decided to walk my geodude today as I only needed around 25 candy for a golem, and geodude is 1km per candy. Walked 11.8km and then found a wild golem on my way home :\

I now need to walk over 100km for any new dex entries so decided to buddy up my growlithe and work towards maxing out my arcanine.

it's became less popular, thanks god
Yet despite its loss in user base, it is still way above rivals in revenue income.

The base that has stuck with it for 2 months now, are likely to stick with it for the long run, as they put time and effort into their game eich they won't want to waste.

These are the user's unaffected by the hype, and appear to be enjoying it enough to stick around for the long haul, see what pokemon events in real life occur, and if the pvp battle modes and a new team based on team rocket enter the game.

I'd say the user base could grow furthermore, once more features are installed.

Someone has looked into the updated code and found that Andriod Wear Watches will get Pokemon Go as well as the already officially announced Apple Watch App.

I wonder how diffrent it will be to the Pokemon Go Plus device.

I do have a Samsung Smart Watch already but ordered Pokemon Go weeks ago as I knew the prices would go up (I paid under £40 now I can't find one for under £60 and have seen them at over £100)

Then again the power on my watch runs out fast enough as is.

After a week, I think they have got the balance right. Its a sensible top up approach, but you cant really use it for a full blown way to get a pokedex.

Problem I'm having is that in my local area there are only two Pokestops, each one a fifteen minute walk away from the other. On top of that, the phone signal in the area is one of those strange ones - it's either 4G or E. So you can often find yourself at one of those Pokestops and then lose all phone signal.

TL;DR - Virtually no Pokestops near me and as a result I have only 18 Pokeballs left

Pokémon GO updated to version 0.39.0 for Android and 1.9.0 for iOS
Trainers,

Pokémon GO is in the process of being updated to version 0.39.0 for Android and 1.9.0 for iOS devices. Below are some release notes and comments from our development team.

Capture location: The location where a Pokémon was caught will now be displayed on their information screen.

Pokémon GO Plus and Incense: Trainers can attempt to capture Pokémon they encounter from using Incense with the Pokémon GO Plus accessory.

Minor bug fixes

We appreciate your continued support and have some exciting features and changes coming soon.

After the circus of the last update I think they would be better served announcing future updates at the same time as release not in advance

Well got the Plus and it keeps disconnecting when I close the app which of course is the point you can have the app off and still play.

Reading up it is a issue with some Andriod phones with will hopefully be fixed in a update.

Still usefull as it counts you walking a little bit better than the app itself.

Its become a walkfest, got to 101 and not far off a few more as I'm close on a number due to the buddy system.

Now I'm at a stage where unless I go somewhere new its unlikely to catch anything new to my Pokedex I'm largely just using to hatch eggs and walk the buddy. Still enjoying it in that sense

One question for people, where do you find Fire Pokemon, I have literally seen 2 in the wild. Cant figure the logic for their locations?

I doubt there is one. I caught Ponyta next to a town square fountain and a Growlith in a national park. Neither is good for a fire That said though i did catch Chansey in a hospital parking lot.

The new catch bonus has given medals a sense of purpose and I like that. I think the game is slowly going in a good direction.

I'm not sure I entirely agree. I agree having medals having a sense of purpose is a good thing. But I'm not sure having a same type catch bonus makes sense. If you are struggling to find certain types then it doesnt help.

I would prefer a system based on reward points, which you could then redeem for various things, including potentially a catch bonus

Yeh, I agree. It doesn't help with types you don't encounter much (although I think it counts Pokemon that you have hatched so it might a little if you hatch loads like I do), but it does make catching the more common Pokemon feel like it has an extra benefit.

I wouldn't be surprised if things like that appear in exchange for PokeCoins in the future, but it would be nice if it worked how you envision instead!

I love that the update has opened gyms up for casuals now, it was almost impossible to get a foothold in gyms previously. Now i'm seeing all kinds of CPs at gyms, i'm going to have to start battling.

Bump in case anyone is still playing but hasn't heard about the Halloween event which just started today

Buddies now require 1/4 of the walking distance they usually require
Double candy for catching, hatching and transferring
Lots more spawns of gastly, cubone, marowak, haunter, drowzee, gengar, meowth & hypno

I didn't realise the spawning bit...I was playing for most of the night last night whilst at work and got loads and loads of cubone, marowak and meowth having previously had none!

The highest IV mon I have is a 97% Haunter so this event is really good for me. Already at 241 candy from about 97 yesterday. Have Magikarp as my buddy to try and get to 400 before the event ends.

I'm loving the double hatching candy and 4X buddy candy. Must have walked around 28km in the last 2 days, after having very little interest in the game since hitting level 30 a month ago.

Hatched a Lapras earlier today, and got 64 candy, so had enough to max out my 89% shard/beam Lapras that I was buddying. Switched to bulba now so hopefully I'll be able to evolve that into Venusaur for the dex entry by the time this update is over.

Just a shame that 90% of the spawns now are 1) useless in gyms and 2) useless for exp grinding.
