I have a nokia Lumia which is pretty old now. I guess it won't be available on that???

Got to say this is a great comeback for what I thought was a dead franchise.

Guess the servers are in need of a rest in a dark room under the server load, got my squirtle and was just going to grab a pidgey and stuck on loading screen

Someone figured out that if you put your phone on an old style record player, it actually works to track distance.

Looks like different people are trying different things. Quite impressive how much it's taken off though - Nintendo must be loving it.
Unless you are carrying the record player it won't work, the pedometer aspect works with the gps map rather than just distance the device moves, so that is fake i'm afraid.

I feel like I'm the only Team Instinct in my town, lol. Every gym I'm going to is owned mostly by Team Mystic. Everytime I take over the gym, it quickly gets taken back over. Feels bad lol. Having a lot of fun though.

My iPhone 6 battery is already a bag of shit, so I can't see this doing me any favours at all.

Question - does the game require a data connection at all times? Is there any point in downloading to my kids' WiFi only tablets?

I'm finding LOADS of bugs. Quite alarming how little polish it's had. It hangs so frequently after a Poke-capture.

And the GPS is pretty appalling (although that could be my Virgin GPS).

Yep, and not really. Tablets can be useful if you tether them as they tend to have longer battery life. But they'll need to have gps to work properly as well as an active data connection.

Colleague went out for lunch, took 90 minutes, found 2.

Boss was furious understandably. Banned talk of it in the office, despite there apparently being one hiding in the corner.

Friend in another office got a reprimand for crawling under someone else's desk to get one.

Bonkers.

Pokemon hasn't even come close to being "dead". Pokemon X & Y sold a grand total of 14.7 million copies, selling 4 million in the first weekend. Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have sold 11.84 million copies worldwide.

And with the success of Pokemon Go, I bet loads of people will buy Sun & Moon too. The game have always made Nintendo money, and they'll continue to make money for the foreseeable future.

Hahaha, that's epic. Surely there's a time and a place for all of this, and that's not at the workplace.

In other news, the servers are well shitty at the minute.

Does the app work in the background on iPhone & alert you of something's near or do you constantly need to have the app open?

The friend in another office is lying, you can be 15-20 feet away and still catch it.

Sadly, you have to have app open.

I was in bed and there was a Squirtle sitting next to me

It's like living through the first 20 minutes of a zombie apocalypse film. At first you notice just a couple of people behaving weirdly, the next day slightly more and so on, growing exponentially until eventually you are having to fight your way down to the shops with sharpened gardening tools.
