i see certain children's charity wants it banned already
My 16 year old who's rather getting used to the student life already actually came out of his room today and went out on his bike travelling around town finding Pokemon. |

i put a lure out and pikachu shows up, so i go to catch him and the game freezes, absolute horse shit
think i've lost about 17 or so pokeballs because of server issues, this is why i wont spend money till the game is fixed |

Pokémon is a huge franchise. For 20 years it's been massive. Now you have a game which accessible to anyone with a smartphone.
Fad? Not sure about that but of course the numbers will decrease. It helps that its summer time as people wont be so keen to go out in the winter. |

I'm actually surprised by how many people I haven't seen playing this in public yet. I know it's only officially been out a day now, but enough people must have had the unofficial versions. I took a stroll last night, and between crashes (robbing me of Pokémon and Pokeballs) I caught four others, and visited a Pokestop (a closed church which I seemingly couldn't access).
I saw one person the whole time that was playing the game (it was obvious what they were doing). Granted I don't live in a city, but I do get about, cycling, walking, running etc, and there's just nobody around.

The phone on 3g coverage would hang on the capture screen everytime and need rebooting, whilst the 4g phone worked fine. |

I understand Pokemon fans and gamer's in general being interested in it, but the people who have no interest in either are just taking part in it because everybody else is.

Just caught a Omanyte and a Kangaskhan while doing a 5k walk to hatch my eggs. They were just in this little park off a side street, i was lucky i decided to walk down there. 2 of the more rarer ones to get than the usual Pokemon hanging around. They took a few Pokeballs to get though.

All the pokemon seem to have gone on holiday today as there are none nearby.

I had this also, closed the app down, opened it again 5 minutes later and the usual Rattata, Squirtle and Krabby were hanging about

I can't imagine many adult women playing this game. Purely on a ratio basis, it's usually men who play video games of some description. Whilst there are women who play them, their numbers are significantly lower. The only girls likely out collecting Pokémon are presumably going to be after school, and I wouldn't recommend approaching them asking if they'd like to see your 'Squirtle'.
Get a bunch of them, and then (eventually) a Blastoise. ![]() |

As a woman I can tell you you're very wrong and I only got the app because the girls at my workplace wouldn't stop going on about it! |

Would love to play this, alas, no phone.
Oh well, Sun and Moon come out in November.

Does the distance it takes to hatch an egg correspond to the type of Pokemon you'll get, or the CP of the Pokemon that hatches? Or both.
Because I really want my 10.0 km egg to be an absolute tank. |

How many Pokemon have you caught?
Are you enjoying the latest craze? Have you been out and about more since the game was released?
I had to go into a playground earlier to catch a pidgey and people were looking at me all funny I felt like telling them to mind their own! Then a lady approached me and asked if I was taking photos, but once she saw I was playing the game she gave me a look and went back to her friend. I felt embarrassed to be honest. It was one of those situations where I thought about later what I should have said to her, but at the time I was glad to just get away
