Bad script and bad actor is never going to be a winning combination.

I want him to be publicly shamed for this and called out to explain himself. The worst character, the worst storyline, some legacy.

Sorry I worded that wrong I meant when he found out his leaving date. I didn't mean he had been told he was fired which is why I didn't use the word "sacked" or "fired."
Thanks for the information though, I may have not known he resigned either way. Do you know why he did, I thought he would want to do it longer. Regardless he obviously loves Eastenders (boss or not.)
I still think Paul Nicholas was very clever casting for the role as originally described. He needed to be handsome, charming, charismatic for it to be believable that Kathy fell for him and was prepared to play dead for him. But, there needed to be a very dangerous man hidden underneath.
Paul Nicholas was capable of that - look at him in Tommy or Just Good Friends for the attractive side.
But the scripts weren't good enough and that dreadful backstory. I could just about live with him turning out to be Sharon's Dad, that Ted had happened to know, and then introduce Kathy in SA to the man that had got Carol pregnant 30 years earlier. But they shouldn't have mucked round with the established circumstances of how and when Sharon was adopted by Den and Angie, that he was part of this posse, that he lived next to Ethel as a kid etc.

I laughed at the bag of money just being left on the balcony as Gavin was taken away.
Will Sharon be entitled to her money back now? Does Gavin own the mansion and who gets it now?
Gavin as a villain was a huge failure. Also the idea that Kathy stayed away from her two sons for all those years because of him - it makes no sense at all. Someone like Archie, yes, you could believe it but not Gavin!!

The only thing more pathetic then Gavin was Kathy believing his lies for the hundreth time by following him into the car, and Sharon forgiving him for the hundreth time even though he has lied to her, threatened her, put her son in danger, put her husband in hospital etc etc. Dumb cows.

A character isnt scary or menacing when the viewer is LAUGHING at him on screen. His "come out come out wherever you are" made me yearn for the days of Harry Hill.

Harry would have done a sketch of himself dressed as Gavin coming out of the dark shadows behind a curtain on shows like This Morning and Loose Women. Gavin was simply ridiculous. Even toadface was more scary a few years back and thats saying something.

Everything relating to gavin is completely unrealistic and I can't even face listing every point - I am still annoyed about Kathy's return story being so unrealistically explained. At least have had her be a prisoner of Gavin's rather than choosing to vanish with him.

Agreed, I am still desperate to find out who the bodies were, that was identified as being there's.

this was something i was interested in, but phil just said he was locked in a room and forced too drink, as usual dtc built this up and it was a total letdown.
I'm glad Gavin's left now, one of the worst EE 'villains' ever after Carl White and Derek Branning. I hated how ill thought out this whole storyline has been, how they've nabbed one of the most iconic lines in the show and ruined it (and to be honest, when Sarah Phelps, who brought Den back from the dead then killed him off again is p*ssed off you know it's a bad s/l). I did hope that Gavin would say he isn't really Sharon's father but there is no chance of that now if he's left. But saying that, at least we don't have to put up with his lurking and bad acting anymore.
