All of the stuff on Google over aliona currently is a load of lies as she is not returning - she clarified it on twitter thar there's no chance of her returning, so all of this has been a lot of hot air and speculation.

Thrilled she has confirmed she and Jay will dance their jive on the launch show though, can't wait to see them again.

them doing their Jive was predictable. it was ok once but not again really. it wasn't even a spectacular Jive id say it was average

Tha audience reaction, and the judges comments and scores would suggest otherwise.

Nothing wrong with the winning couple coming back to perform their most popular dance. It always happens, as far as I remember.

Think you will find most people disagreeing with you there.

Forgot you are a Anton fan so maybe you would prefer his type of jive

It was such an exciting dance, one of those moments that sticks in my mind from all 13 series.

Watching Jay and Aliona perform it again will be a perfect celebration of their winning partnership and the last series. It will also throw down the gauntlet to the new couples, match that

I don't think the judge's scores were that great I can't think of the last time a last year's winner opened the new season either.

Anyway, I'm very glad that Vilani isn't returning. She only seemed to shine when she got a ringer.

I think BBC protected her overmuch really....that's my perception anyway.

Yes, judges score of 37 for a week 3 dance isn't very good at all really, is it?

Oh, and the previous year's winner Caroline Flack danced on the launch show last year.

And Abbey Clancy the year before.

Bit confused by your post??

In recent years the last year's winner has always danced on the Launch Show so Jay and Aliona dancing is the normal thing to do.

Aliona has got on well with not so good dancers in the past - she stayed great friends with Tony Jacklin.

So many people wanted Jay and Aliona to dance the Jive in the Final, so it's good that they're doing that - especially as it got three 9s and the first 10 in only week 3.

Here's Jeremy, whose partner was Kevin's wife Karen, on how good Jay and Aliona's Jive was

(By the way, I actually prefer their Final Paso - just - and I also like Kevin, and I quite liked Katie and Anton's Jive.)

I just hope Ward Robe sort out Jay's trousers so the don't need to be hemmed up with a safety pin - which is all you can see when you know it's there

He'd have scored 40 had it been performed later in the series but the judges had to give him somewhere to go.

Aliona was one of the best female pros Strictly has ever employed. An excellent teacher and skilled and innovative choreographer.

No pro but Aliona could have brought that jive performance out of Jay.

And that Aliona binned Jay's tour wig

I'd like to see them perform it without the Pulp Fiction character styling. To the same music obviously but in different outfits as themselves.

Think it was there to weigh down his trousers - it would have been quicker to get a needle and thread if it was just a case of hemming.

(I'm a woman who likes to sew)

I remember someone who had been there saying - possibly on the Spoiler thread - that War Drobe were fussing over Jay's trousers right until the last minute.

Shame that they did not do the jive in the final, obviously not that special a dance as they did it many times on the tour and now on the first show of the new series. Never got the logic of not dancing it in the final but old news I suppose.

Concerning Aliona I wish she had got a journey contestant because it was either young ringers or no hopers.

She certainly did and it was shocking, she'd forgotten everything she'd been taught.

Think it's been going on for few series. I seem to remember, for reasons unknown, Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon returning one year ( not absolutely 100% it was for the opening show), Lisa Snowdon was stumbling around like a p*ssed aunt at a wedding reception after one too many Blue WKDs.

At least with J and A you know it'll be good. I'm not particularly a Jay fan but I remember when they did it in week 3, it just exploded! Though, hopefully, Jay will say no to that hideous wig.

Don't think Flackers had done any dancing since her tour. Jay should be OK because he is doing that Robin Windsor tour so hopefully it won't be a total write off.

I didn't think Harry Judd was previously trained as a dancer - don't recall hearing that the year he was in SCD.
I am glad Jay and Aliona are performing the JIVE in the Launch Show as it is the dance that everyone remembers and talks about from the last series. The reaction from everyone in the studio and at home was spontaneous.

Harry wasn't a ringer, for Joanne and the Christmas glitterball maybe once Aliona had trained him.

Well I'm definitely awarding you the record for the most rude comment.
