them doing their Jive was predictable. it was ok once but not again really. it wasn't even a spectacular Jive id say it was average
As others have said it was week three and Darcy's 'because its week three' comment before giving a nine was outrageous...The best Jive seen on SCD, it had everything

I was glad they didn't do it in the final.

The magic of that dance was how it came out of nowhere and it fully deserved four 10s in week 3, the judges missed their chance to create history because they didn't want such a runaway winner so early on.

The fact the judges were so clearly pissed off they wouldn't get the chance to give it 4 10s in the final was a bonus, which may sound odd from a fan of the pair, but I knew they were more than that dance and their Paso was amazing.

I absolutely loved seeing it on tour in the front row, but it never got me like the surprise of that first time in Week 3.

Like Jay and Aliona said, some things are best left. It was a treat to watch it, but if the only version id ever seen was from week 3 show i'd be ok with it.

I actually wish they were doing the Paso for their return dance, but I'm sure the Jive will be a massive crowd pleaser.

Bravo 👏👏👏👏👏 Hope the excuse makers who twiddle and twaddle about Jay and Aliona see this post, very well put I wouldn't be so calm not after the amount of times I repeated why Jay and Aliona didn't pick their jive.. It seems to go in and out the other ear for some people. That dance was special and the reaction it got was priceless doing it again in the final wouldn't have gotten a reaction near what it did earlier on the show.. The studio wasn't really filled with much happiness IMO and it was a crowd that almost sounded machine modified to support and please certain couples which was so oddly strange to me. But you said it all I would watch the week 3 jive for ever if I had to choose

So special that they did it every day on tour and now doing it on the launch show. Yep special dance that one.

For the record I liked the dance very much and wanted to see it on the final. It wouldn't have mattered too much if he had been on form that night instead of average.

What are you on about? Of course it's a special dance and they were told to do the jive a hundred times on tour along with their rumba and I'm sure Jay and Aliona felt a little guilty after some of the unnecessary outbursts from some viewers, that's probably why they decided to go along with dancing that particular special routine. And that's good for you that you liked the jive it was perfection.. But you saying that Jay was average now that confuses me as his routines were the most complex out of the other two couples.. Therefore technically he performed at a higher level, yeah I know it's a lot for someone to get their head around..

Ah, I've loved watching Aliona. She's my fave female pro. She's just so full of energy and unafraid to try something new or different. Good luck to her for whatever she does next though.

I'm glad you said that because it's what I thought last series but didn't say because, hands up, I am no technical expert. I couldn't say any of the other finalists being able to cope with the complexities of the routines Jay had. And whilst on my soapbox, I really disagreed with the judges about Aliona and Jay's show dance. I thought demonstrating everything Jay had learned was an absolutely brilliantly idea and was streets ahead of the other pros' choreography in the final.

Agreed! It's easy for people to bash Alionas decision of the show dance for Jay, I've never seen this concept to be done on strictly, 1. Maybe because some pros were too much of a wuss, 2. Well actually can't think of anything else, Aliona had the balls to do what she wanted and I'm certain that Jay wanted to do the show dance too, I remember him being quite fond of the idea of merging all the routines they've done over the series which was a genius idea something different, but what I did notice was the way they both danced it, just with that extra bit of exaggeration for example the rumba section I can not get over how much Jay looked like a professional his hips were moving everything just worked for me.
