Im looking for a USB stick to put some demos on it. Im plugging it into a 4k tv in currys to see how it handles programmes I'll be watching. Will any USB stick do?

Any USB 2 stick will probably do but a USB 3 stick tends to be quicker even if the device only supports USB 2 speeds

Avoid ones that look like this one
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00...4DL&ref=plSrch

They can overheat and fail. I jad one that did and ended up having to buy another drive.

That's the one I have, it's fine in my home theater system but gets hot when left plugged into a Pc or laptop

You're assuming of course that the TVs in question will be able to play 4k videos via the TV's built-in media player. I can't comment on the very latest models but I do know that many only allow 4k via HDMI, or from or streaming apps such as Netflix or YouTube.

Is it still in warranty? The manufacturer will apparently replace them if they are. Mine wasn't when it failed so couldn't claim.

Mine was getting that hot it was dosconnecting, not something you want when you are dealing with large files featuring customer orders etc.
