I am using a Samsung smart TV and have a Humax PVR 9200T which was given to me (secondhand) by my sister as mine died. I plugged it in today and I using the scart plug. the Humax has power going to it but when pressing the standby button the TV doesn't come on. I wonder what \i'm doing wrong if anything.

Check you have the aerial plugged into Humax RF IN, you can then link RF OUT to the TV if you want to use the tv channels even Humax is recording. Switch the tv to the scart channel on the TV. If the box is working you should get the channels.

If your sister uses a different transmitter to you you'll have to go into the menu and rescan for the channels.

Also, check the scarts as some are marked IN and OUT if they don't have all the pins in.

Standby button on what?

If you mean the Humax remote then that more than likely only turns the Humax on and off. If your previous PVR used HDMI then that does have the ability to wake up a TV out of standby when you turn the PVR on. Connecting by SCART may not do that.

There is a control signal on SCART but usually that just causes the TV to switch to the SCART input when the device on the other end of the lead comes out of standby. It might not also cause the TV to wake up.

Errrr???? The 9200 doesn't have HDMI so not entirely sure what the point of switching the TV to HDMI is.

Maybe pressing the Source button on the Samsung TV remote was enough to wake it up then the SCART signalling from the 9200T automatically switched it back to SCART? If so, a bit of an iffy way of controlling things.
