Correct, that is not the case.

Sort of my point.
EFL game is 30th not the 26th as the other contributor wrote.

Watched this a couple of times. Really lives up to the "Sport no-one would pay for" tag.

I'm glad the Mosconi Cup is on. Probably one of the few things I actually am missing since I cancelled my Sky SPorts.

I suppose I should elaborate and give you some examples I am aware of

- NFL Redzone (7 hours every Sunday evening) is not on any of the normal SS channels
- The various highlights shows that are in the schedules are just on SS Mix.
- The occasional live event is only on SS Mix, for example, the other week a Dutch game featuring Ajax wasnt on any of the other channels.

Yup, I got slagged off for criticizing it early on. But as I predicted, after an early burst of some live cricket and formula one. Now there is a Spanish League football match and a Football League match once a week.

Rest of the time: kabbadi, keepy-uppy footbal touranmets (wtf?) and women's golf.

Oh and since they started showing NFL Redzone on this new channel, Sky have now stppoed showing full live NFL games on other FTA channels like Sky Two which they did last season.

Total bait and switch job from Sky as suspected.

Bit in bold is incorrect. Check the Pick TV schedule for Thanksgiving.

As for the live sport on the channel, Im sure I saw a full day of darts on there on Saturday? Maybe it was just a mirage....

On what platform is Sky2 available FTA?

Quite. Also, if you have Sky Two, surely you have Sky Sports Mix by default as well?

Makes sense to move to SSM, as this has always been low down Sky's priorities hence the move from weekends to midweek a few years back as they could not guarantee weekend screen time on SS.

I presume they only keep this on air as it's produced by Matchroom Sports so they want to keep the Hearns happy to get their darts and boxing.

Bait and switch = Promotional channel which was surely it's main purpose anyway. It's like criticizing the old Sky Sports Free for all days for advertising.

Anyway I think the other clue is in the name MIX I'm not surprised they keep changing focus as to which sports they cover each month, i.e. from Cricket, to Netball to Tennis to Basketball etc.

Obviously they were going to open strong but overall the channel is meeting my expectations, in fact as far as exclusive live content is concerned it's far exceeded them. I think that many SKY Sports subscribers will actually be pleasantly surprised how the channel has in effect become a way of seeing additional content rather than it being just a rehash of what they already get.

Personally Redzone every week as made it for me.

Would just point out that by this time last year, at least four or five full live games had been shown on Sky Two or Pick and to the person who said Sky Two is not FTA, somewhat nit-picking as is available on all basic cable packages.

And thirdly, phew!, all you Sky brainwashees are tiring me out, NFL RedZone is all very well for NFL experts, but how many of us viewers in Europe are aficionado ?
I'll be humble and say I find all the game switching bewildering.

Cable is subscription. It costs money to avail of the service, even at basic level.

Sky2 is not FTA anywhere.

That's a point of fact, not nitpicking

Exactly. As someone who had to stop all Sky because of rising costs so from Sports to nothing, having a game on Pick is a big issue for me. My sister just has entertainment so gets Mix but agree Sky2 was only used for NFL last year as they could restrict to pay customers (obviously something not applying to the handful of games last year on Pick), but this year they have SSM to use instead.

You cant get your ahead around a switch of game? Deary me. Im still of the opinion RedZone opens it up to more people as it eliminates all the breaks, something that I know irks people who are not regular watchers and even those who are.

Redzone has been getting better ratings for a full 7 hour programme than the stand alone games have been getting for 3-3.5....

In what world is a handful of (irregular) 3 hour games on a very random channel that broadcasts in the worst quality available, better than regular 7 hour Redzone shows in HD on a channel people would check to see if there's sport available.

I see a lot of stupidity on these forums but that's up there.

Plus it got some decent content each month.
IE this month first day of first test twice and 1st odi all in mix.
got SA domestic T20 games live on Mix and got some spanish football as well.
got way more mix exclusive than anyone actually thought it would have.

Oh for crying out loud, you people are total Sky zombies, I give up and am going back to the "normal people" threads.

NFL:
Detroit Lions v Minnesota Vikings (Next Thursday)

This doesn't seems to be the case now, neither Qualifying or the race is on Mix now, Radio Times seems to have failed to update this yet.

Latest update from the Sky Sports listings site:

Football:
PSV V Heerenveen (22nd January)
Ajax V ADO Den Haag (29th January)

NFL:
NFL Pro Bowl (30th January)

These are the first updates for 2017 so the above may change.

In replacement for F1:

Heerenveen V Ajax (Next Sunday, 1:30pm)
Utrecht V Feyenoord (Next Sunday, 3:30pm)

The GP2 Feature race on Saturday has also been removed from Mix despite the Sky listing's claiming it on Mix.

With one hand they give with the other they take away.

Next weeks Man U v West Ham Cup game is no longer listed Mix. However they are now listing another EPL match on 17th Dec, Chelsea V Crystal Palace

Another wasted opportunity to show an EFL Cup game. A decent PL game in exchange though.
