New to BT - Broadband/Phone Activation

We've just moved or trying to move from Virgin to BT.

We were supposed to be activated on Friday.

BT cancelled the Engineer as we had a BT line from pre Virgin, which they had supposedly checked and all we had to do was plug in.

We expected it to go live last night but it didn't and logging on to our BT account there was a 'Delay'.

I had an online chat yesterday at 10am, everything will be up and running at 2pm. It wasn't, had another online chat tonight and they eventually called me and transferred me to another number where I got 'Sorry our lines are now closed' grrr.

Since had a text saying your phone is now working....er no it's not.

Is it always like this??

BT in my experience is horrendous leave now while you can, you be regretting it!

Was with BT for 14 months and had nothing but bother to the extent that I've had to go to the ombudsman.

But of cause they is other people that haven't had any issues with bt at all or maybe just haven't called their dreadful call centre i kept getting told different thing from BT!

I've just gone from Sky bb to BT infinity and got told my activation date would be the 4th of July , I recieved an email on that morning saying there would be a delay up to midnight that day , anyway everything went ok and I was connected at 4pm , didn't need an engineer to come to my house though , oh and a billy bonus , my £125 cash card came today too , which I've activated

Basically had the run around all weekend with their call centre. It's really hard work.

Walked into the office this morning to a number of "You haven't gone with BT" comments. Hardly filling me with confidence.

I expect to be on my mobile to them again when I get home.

They did leave a voicemail on my mobile at lunchtime asking if everything was OK.
