EastEnders Episode Thread
Monday 11th July 2016
BBC 1 8.00PM and Repeated on W at 10.00PM

Hi everybody I am back after my 4 episode hiatus and raring to go. DTC has gone but his legacy will continue for another few months yet, this is Sean's first credited episode but is very much DTC's creation. I wish Sean well, no matter what he does, I have no doubt he will not please everybody, or in DS's case almost anybody most of the time.

This is a Daran Little episode so let's hope it's a good one.

Synopsis

Spoiler
Billy struggles to come to terms with Les's cross-dressing secret after seeing him dressed as Christine recently. He agrees to resign from Coker and Sons.

Pam is devastated by Billy's attitude and tells Les that it's time for them to retire and move away from the Square. Les reluctantly agrees, but Paul is adamant that he's staying in Walford.

After Ben comes up with a surprising idea, Paul tells his grandparents that they've decided to take over Coker and Sons as a couple. It's good news for Pam, but the day takes another turn when Paul's mum Jenny arrives unexpectedly. Pam immediately tells her to leave.

Meanwhile, Linda shares her plan to honour Peggy and holds a ceremony at The Vic. Later, Shirley arrives to check on Phil.

Elsewhere, Steven and Lauren decide to look for their own place in Walford. At the hospital shortly afterwards, Steven and Ian hear the bad news that Jane has given up trying with her physiotherapy. Steven suggests that Jane would be better at home, despite the doctors not recommending it. Lauren is disappointed when Steven decides they should move into the Beale house to help with Jane.

Better early than late! I really want to know what SOC's vision for the show is and plans for characters, storylines ect. I guess we'll know soon enough!

Even though SOC is on the credits, this is still DTC's work, isn't it? Or will SOC have had some input into these episodes?

he will have input because he will have overseen the filming, direction and editing but the storylines are what dtc had put in place

Thanks Aaron

Linda met her once and is now acting like she knew her, at least if it was Shirley you would understand but it ain't!

Billy can't cope with Les being cross dresser so decided to quit his job that makes total sense, why have they not put this stupid storyline to bed already!!

Daran Little may be writing this episode but sounds like the usual drizzle.

I see, so the storylines are DTC's but SOC could have changed things if he had wanted too?

He only started a couple of weeks ago so will have had minimal input on these episodes. But in the two and a half years DTC was in charge he would have had some time over, so whoever covered him during his holiday would probably have covered the abscence in between DTC leaving and SOC arriving

It's hard to know. We've heard nothing from SOC but DS said that it'll be mid-September when his work truly hits the screen.

Thanks for the thread Aaron.

Daran seems to enjoy writing for the Cokers.

Shazza, Kaffy and Briggsy have been left off the cast lists this week so we wouldn't know if Gav had killed them or not. *rolls eyes*
