DSFE has taken you all around the world, but are you ready to take this contest to the interstellar?

Awesome female Italian astronaut Samantha Cristoforetti welcomes you to DSFE 80: live from the ISS!

Who will come out on top and who will lose their lunch before launch? If you have what it takes to win this contest please send me a PM and you will be recruited as a player of the DSFE80 cosmos.

The rules are as follows:
-You will receive a good Earthly country and a bad Earthly country at random
-Your entry cannot exceed 5 minutes in length.
-Your entry must have been released post 2005.
-Your entry cannot have been a UK top 40 hit.
-Your entry cannot have been part of the National Final of any Eurovision country
-Your entry must be new to DSFE and cannot have been entere before unless it was a non-qualifying song from a DSFE National Final.
-One of the singers on your entry must have been born in the country, have ancestral links to the country going back no further than grandparents (full ancestry), or be a permanent resident of the country presently. You MUST provide the link your singer has to the country (if it is unclear)
-If your entry is a cover it IS allowed if the song adheres to the rules mentioned above

Countries whose music scene looks terrible even from space will be separated and handed out publicly on a first-come/first-serve basis as third countries on the thread for the people who are interested

You can use the DSFE wikia to check whether your entry is as fresh as an undiscovered planet, please use the search bar for this as entries might have been eligiable for multiple countries for one point or another. You can also check our beautiful wikia for stats, facts and maybe even some inspiration.

You have until the Friday the 15th of July to sign up.
May the planets allign for you.

Omg Mies, you've finally outdone yourself in theming - how will AxG deal with this on the wiki?

I have updated the 2016 Champion of Champions page on the wikia and it can be seen by clicking on the link below

Champion of Champions 2016

In total 71 nations have made the final at least once and will all take part in CofC at the end of the year. We have had 7 contests so far and therefore 7 automatic qualifiers into Round 2, our current reigning winner from Italy is top of the winners list based on percentage points scored from the maximum possible.

The maximum any country can have in it's round 1 NF is 4 songs and therefore 9 of the finalists this year already know they will not feature in CofC this year due to falling outside their countries top 4, these songs are:

Australia - Joel Adams - Please Don't Go - 16th - ChickenFromKiev
Belgium - Alice On The Roof - Lucky You - 25th - TerryP
Belgium - Mustii - The Golden Age - 25th - ChickenFromKiev
France - Cassandre - Nos Coeurs Libres - 25th - TerryP
Gotland - Naomi Pilgrim - Sink Like A Stone - 18th - thengp12
Gotland - Full Of Keys - Me And The Sea - 19th - JonahTakalua
Italy - Lorenzo Fragola - The Rest - 26th - mikabv
New Zealand - Benny Tipene - Step On Up - 24th - jackel1234
Poland - Tabb & Sound'N'Grace - Na Pewno - 23rd - thengp12

The following songs are current "on the bubble" and would be pushed out of CofC if another song either betters their position, equals their position but has a better points scored percentage or comes lower but manages to win a QF/SF

Australia - The Behaviour - Eves - 10th (23.43%) - Gwen 404
Belgium - Billie - Caught By The Tide - 20th (11.40%) - Yugimuto1
Faroe Islands - Mahanna - Hjarta Mitt Laer - 17th (17.01%) - Gwen 404
France - Caravan Palace - Lone Digger - 17th (12.28%) - Lurker62
Gotland - Noonie Bao - Pyramids - 15th (17.54%) - jag02010

Poland - Karen O - I Shall Rise - 19th (17.70%) - jag02010
Russia - Polina Gagarina - I Will Not - 17th (11.84%) - AxG

I want to get a grasp on how many players we'll have first to avoid the risk of late players ending up with the East Midlands and Tajikistan.

An icon representing the ISS as it travels over Europe, edited every couple of hours on a daily basis for accuracy, can't be that difficult right??
