Have to admit I've never thought of it in this way - just a way of making sure they don't hear the answer incorrectly and then get it wrong.
If they really were then I expect Paxo would say it - they'd probably stop filming and he'd tell them I'd guess? If they really think they are doing it on purpose, then they need to change the rules and give them a maximum number of 'nominates' per round? Agree with this - probably quicker in the end to say nominate than to check and then check again that the captain has heard correctly. |

Yeah but this was when the answers were simple and given seemingly clearly, maybe it was nothing and in the end I am glad they won, just thought Jardine nominated a hell of a lot.

Awww we won't see hottie Lauder again.
But WHAT a match by East London. Bravo. All team members equally contributed and they all did well not to give away deductions easily. |

I have seen it before one of the team has had knowledge of a subject and the Captain has just nominated him virtually straight away after each question. Seems the sensible thing to do.

On the other side of this, I have seen the Captain take an answer from one of the the team and then give it incorrectly to Paxman, who has then said person X was correct but you must have misheard. Much safer to nominate if you're not sure.

Not an easy team to beat especially when Queens' only had 3 members in the team.
Well done Jesus Oh and it seems like there is no episode next Monday. Why? |

I thought last night was one of the best in this series it seemed a shame that one team had to go home given how poor some of the people who have got through have been

Great British Menu is on for an hour (rather than half an hour) from 19:00 to 20:00 then Autumn Watch is from 20:00 to 21:00.

I agree. Queens' could have gone through easily had they had a better draw.

I forget Paxman's explanation for the positioning of the apostrophe. Which queens were they?

Edwards was indeed on storming form, so much so that you wonder how on earth SOAS managed to get beat first time out. Teams so dominated by one individual do tend to be at a bit of a disadvantage against ones where everyone pitches in, but even so, I'd say they're going to take some beating. (In a series where there haven't been any really stand out teams.)
