France I understand - She thought it might be a trick question and the answer might be France as French Polynesia was part of French territories

I've enjoyed this Christmas tournament and wish they could do a longer series with celebrated ex alumni. I was torn over which team to cheer on tonight but on balance I was glad to see the all female St Hildas triumph.
Not entirely sure what if anything Caldicott contributed, but a good team effort from the others. And knowing how dark and angry Steve Bell's work can be, I was pleasantly surprised by his cuddly sweater and cheery demeanour.

As suggested earlier, it is quite likely difficult to get four people to agree to be on the team and she might have been the only one with a scientific background that they could get even if she only has a narrow range of scientific knowledge.

I also think the BBC could have stumped up some sort of trophy for the winners. I mean, even on that trivial programme Celebrity Mastermind, the winner of every episode gets a trophy.
Whenever British artist is mentioned it's worth saying Turner for the answer. I don't know how prolific he really was (Yes, I've seen the film and been to the Tate Gallery) but he always seems to feature in quiz shows.

I suppose that is the difference in the programmes that have "professional quizzers", there are often very common answers that they will try when they have no idea.

The ratings and shares have been impressive, whether or not that's because quiz programmes are ideal Christmas fare, but agree that more alumni editions could do well for the channel at weekends.

The question was what links a motley collection of politicians and gritty realistic dramas etc. Thus the answer was Kitchen, the linking word between Kitchen Cabinet and Kitchen Sink and not Kitchen Sink which applied to only one of the examples.
I think the problem was the question was what was the key word. There were three references and the second was to a style of government and was Kitchen cabinet and the third was a type of drama and was kitchen sink. So kitchen was the key, not kitchen sink.

I can't imagine that the poor souls who probably take all year just to get the teams together would be wild about having their workload increased. Once a year is just perfect. Let's not ruin it.

It just shows how effective cartoons can be as catharsis. Scarfe, even more dark and angry, is very happily married to that nice Jane Asher, for instance. Maybe we should all take up political cartooning?

Though if it was more regular then more people would become aware of the series. I suspect that many of potential candidates as panellists don't watch a lot of TV and are not aware of the series.
