My point was that he really doesn't want to be here or admit he's English, and he's a tax exile, so he shouldn't be knighted. That applies to Mick Jagger and Tom Jones also.
Oh okay, if he's a tax exile I agree with you.

JVS is spot on. Bloody tax exiles should not receive knighthoods.

I think Londoner Rod would rather be anything but English, even Americans don't sound so American as he does when he sings. The irony is that he has been knighted and now is a 'sir'.
oh the irony JVS

Omg

Hughie was obviously trying to hint to the other housemates that Theresa May is the new Prime Minister!!!!!!

Only two female PMs ever

1st - MAGGIE Thatcher
2nd - Theresa MAY

MAGGIE MAY - one of Rod Stewart's most famous songs!!!

Hughie is so clever!!!

Disclaimer - this is a joke post in case anyone decides to get mad

I'm pretty sure he moved back to the UK a couple of years ago and now lives in Essex (although still has a house in the states too), so presumably he does want to be here.

Can't sand him now, but that was amusing.

So if your parents were born in India and you were born in England, does that make you English? Love your reasoning, a huge step forward for race relations

Scotland are welcome to him as far as I am concerned, a bloke from Archway and not supporting the Arsenal, there must be something wrong with him

Was Bob Marley English?

Bradley Wiggins isnt English, Chris Froome isnt English, Mo Farrah isnt English, Laura Robson isnt English, Raheem Sterling isnt English etc
Lennox Lewis, Kevin Pieterson, Nelson Mandela, Fidel Castro...the list is endless

Jesus was born in a stable but he wasn't an 'orse.
I like your logic. I was born in a bed but I'm not a pillow

He may be English, but Ronnie Wood said that the problem of reforming The Faces was that Rod 'makes everything about money', and said he was 'tighter than two coats of paint'. So the confusion over his nationality is understandable.

You do know Scots being mean is a myth, Scotland puts the rest of Britain to shame when it comes to giving to charity
