I didnt care for it. It wasnt the mystery/puzzle the ads on TP implied it was.... And i found it a wee bit dull, to be honest.
I found it so intriguing and creepy! It's apparently loosely based on the Brighton trunk murders of the 1930's. The ending reminded me, in a way, of

Anyone watch that faux documentary about British witches? Far too dull but the B&W photography was quite striking at times.

Nearly a month after my original email and I've still had no acknowledgement or reply to my question of why they stopped showing Dick Barton with four episodes left! I'm pretty sure the recent showing was the second time they're run it, as I seem to recall seeing it in the listings earlier in the year, but didn't catch it on that occasion, so does anyone know whether they showed all thirty two episodes on the first screening?

I love TalkingPicturesTV. There are some absolute gems to be discovered, but I often think it performs the kind of service that should really be provided by the BBC. You get the good along with the bad, but even with the poor films you will often find household names in some of their very first roles. It makes a very welcome relief from all the seemingly never ending repeats of American films on other channels.

If it were me, i'd send them a reminder pointing out that if they couldn't be bothered to answer a customer email; then I could no longer be bothered to watch the channel. This normally promps them to do their job correctly. If this fails to work, I would contact the CEO. S/he should ensure that you receive the courtesy of a reply and deal with the issue of frontline staff damaging the business. |

Have you ever noticed that with many B&W films they certainly knew how to light the scene, far superior sometimes to modern films. The Third Man is a good example

Sixties flim 'Spare The Rod' on today (Thursday) at 9.55am. A school drama where Max Bygraves is more serious, Donald Pleasence is less menacing and Geoffrey Keen is, well, Geoffrey Keen!

I like their weekend porno offerings. The sorts of films that used to be shown on screen 3, in 1978, just after the local fleapit had been converted into a multiplex ..........

Talking Pictures is showing the Hammer Horror gem 'Hands Of The Ripper' tonight (Saturday) at 9.45pm.
It's great to see that this channel is broadcasting a few Hammer films lately. |

Love Talking Pictures but I wish they would delve deeper into the old ITV archive as they did with Southern's soap "Together".
There are some real gems to be found. I'd love to rewatch "The Cedar Tree". |
