Where are the Prince Best off's at the moment?

Considering Number Ones is from 2003 not much change to be expected for now, if Adele or Rihanna releases a greatest hits I can see them trouble the positions 8 to 10 in time

Interesting how 3 of the top 4 biggest selling came in the first two years of the 90s. Was that a peak time for music?

Can't say i am surprised by who is listed.
In fact, I think Abba Gold has never ever stopped selling and is always in the chart.

It's certified 9 times platinum just in the UK, so that's 2.7 million shipped but may not have sold so many. Think at least 2 million though.

Wasn't the Beautiful South's greatest hits album a big seller as well?

Yes, must have been as it was huge at Christmas '94. Maybe about 1.8m.

Yes it was the top-selling album of both 1991 and 1992.

Abba's Greatest Hits shouldn't be included!
It's just odd title for an album of what were brand new songs.

What about the various compilations of ELO hits? They release them on a regular basis and there's one in the charts now due to added interest due to Jeff Lynne's ELO releasing an album and doing Glastonbury.

As Prince was mentioned upthread and talking of sadly departed artists, what about the David Bowie compilations? Maybe too many different ones so sales are spread out perhaps?

ELO's best-seller is Out Of The Blue and the hits one in the album chart top 10 at present has just passed a million sales, so their biggest selling compilation.

Yes, too many Bowie compilations for one to be a massive seller.

Lol.
How embarrassing for people working in the music biz not to know it's not a hits compllation.
Greatest Hits is a good pop album but their next album was Arrival and that was great.

Well it's called a Greatest Hits album so that's what the compilers go on!
