Why are Kate Oates' episodes taking so long.
Iain MacLeod was announced as Emmerdale producer at the same time and his episodes started in May.
Sean O'Connor's episodes have started in Eastenders. Why is there a delay for Kate? Has it been explained? |

Monday, 25th July is when we first see her work.
Perhaps it has something to do with how far in advance of broadcast the episodes are recorded. |

Because ITV decided to announce it ridiculously early, months before Stuart even left.
Also she had a three month break in between leaving Emmerdale and starting at Corrie. |

She only started there in either March or April - as after Emmerdale she took a break for a few months.
When new soap producers start being credited, typically it isn't their work. It just means they have overseen production of the episodes in question. It's usually another few months before their own storylines hit. I'm surprised Kate would want to put her name to anything signed off by SB. He's been by far Corrie's worst ever producer. But if she's being credited later this month then she must be. |

I remember when Kirkwood took over from Santer on EE there was an announcement and within weeks Kirkwood was shadowing Santer for a couple weeks then it was all over.
This year 4 soaps have got new producers and it is taking FOREVER for them to be implemented. It will be 2017 before we see any of their work taking fruition |

Kate started at CS at the start of April. she had a ell deserved break before starting CS, ITV were in no hurry for stuart to go Something has gone on at EE, they have credited SOCK as EP but the storylines etc are still DTc's unfortunately. Its a strange move |

Kate Oates has been working on changing everyone's personalities so hence the delay

Yes, I read In an article that they credit the new producer from their first day, even though It's not their stuff, It is strange.
but yeah they put in the intervie he was credited but not all his work as dtcs storylines have months left to play out. the other producers at itv and Iain on hollyoaks. all remained on the credits till their work (apart from the long term stories ongoing) was complete |
