A massive well done to John Bowe and John McArdle for putting in such amazing performances tonight. I don’t normally like the phrase ‘acting masterclass’ but that’s what it was to me.

It was great to see Lawrence finally open up about himself. Tragic story.

If only Ronnie had been recording that conversation so that Bernice could have eventually heard him say that she's the one he wants to be with. Too late now.

Yes, it was good stuff. The two men are a class act. Honourable mention to the actress who plays Bernice too.

Bernice deserves better. Lawrence may love her, but he can't make her happy long term.

I think they stood a decent chance of mutual relative happiness when she thought they were both signing up to a sexless marriage. But once she got it into her head, (not unreasonably given Lawrence's behaviour up to now), that he did want sex, just not with her, the relationship was doomed.

I truly loathe Andy. It's alright for him to carry on with Chrissie and manipulate Bernice yet Larry can't even be given the respect to explain himself

Really? I disagree. I don't think Bernice is suited to a sexless marriage. Their relationship was never going to work imo.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think she is either. She was 'settling', which is obviously not ideal, but in her mind it was better than being alone forever which is how she feared she would end up at that point. So I think they could have settled into a very loving long term companionship as long as she believed he was impotent and she wouldn't be hurt emotionally yet again. It's a sad story all round, but a very good one to tell I think.
