I'm out of touch with today's music and want to start listening to chart music again to know what's out there. Itunes used to do free radio but I don't know what's happened to it... can anyone recommend some good sites?

What sort of music? If you want pop/ chart stuff it would be Radio 1/ Capital or similar. Listen online on tunein radio or on iPlayer radio for BBC stations.

Pop/chart stuff. I find BBC player confusing to use. Thanks for the other suggestion.

My other advice is dont feel obliged to have to keep up with pop and chart stuff. I finally let go when I stopped DJing and embraced the fact Im stuck in the 90s, music-wise. Never felt better.

There's a world of music out there.

The trouble is, if you're "stuck in the '90s", you'll miss most of it.

I use www.surfmusic.de

It allows you to listen to radio world wide with quite a simple interface, which comes in handy as I'm quite partial to American Rock radio.

I was joking and, to be fair, neither do I as there is very little they play that I actually listen to.

I've got a few IP addresses and URL's saved as a Winamp playlist for direct streaming which works quite nicely.

Radionomy is another good source for online radio.

You should check out community radio stations... they play a wide variety of indie rock.

Two good ones are: KXCI (tucson, my hometown) and KEXP (seattle).. both can stream from their websites.

Right this second, KEXP is playing Rose Window - Native Dreams (which sounds like a resurrected Jane's Addiction)

and KXCI is playing Glass Candy - Nite Nurses (which sounds like a resurrected Runaways, ha!)
