Dr Who 7th May
Here is what the Radio Times says about tonight's episode: Quote:
But despite bubbling with great ideas, the story doesn't quite hang together, and with a dateline that far away, you'd expect a greater leap of imagination from the design department
Not exactly a ringing endorsement!

I actually think this story looks as if it's going to be a little like the Matrix in the fact that the world in which the Doctor and Rose go to will actually be inside some sort of machine, which Simon Pegg, 'The Editor' is controlling.
Incidentally, after watching Doctor Who Confidential last week, apparantly it's narrated by Simon Pegg, which I thought was interesting. |

No it's not a ringing endorsement at all.
The look of the design appears very 1980's da-glo, eyeball burning, and makes you want to throw up at seeing the cheesy neon design,...so I was hoping the story would make up for it. Now even the Radio Times says that the story doesn't really work that well,...well I set my expectations quite low for this episode. The design looks like it's from "Batman and Robin", the worst of the Batman films. All those bright, intense, clashing colours make me feel a bit queasy. |

Apparently Russell T Davies submited the script for tonights episode to the BBC back in the Eighties (Peter Davison era I Think) but it was rejected...

I have read in several places this Editor character they have hopes of being a repeat enemy, like the master etc.

After the trailer last week I thouhgt this weeks episode looked interesting, but perhaps not that good. The Radio Times quote seems to back this up.
However I will wait full judgment until I have seen it. I may be in for a pleasant suprise...and after all I think there will be significant reference to the 'War' etc (or I'm hoping so...we should have to as Rose knows enough about it now to want to ask serious questions). And I'm intrested to see what will happen to Adam (I think that's his name) I've not heard that he will be in any more episodes so whee does he go? Personally I think he'll die, allowing Rose and the Doctor to escape from something, but you never know... |

Dr Who 7th May
Doesn't start for another 3 3/4 hours. There's keen and there's being a little too keen.

Every time the week's new thread starts it's moan, moan , moan. Too early, wrong place, etc. ![]() You're the Doctor Who thread's resident Victor Meldrew.

LOL the muesli eating Dalek who gambols in the sunshine concept from Hamlet last week still makes me laugh.

I think this episode could surprise. I didn't think the trailer for the unquiet dead was anygood, and that was my favourite episode behind dalek.

In the trailer, the Doctor seemed to have got his history confused according to Rose.
So I have a strong feeling that this week, we may see the Doctor and Rose fall into a Time Rift, and appear in an Earth of an alternate universe. But I might be wrong too. Hopefully by the end of the episode this thread will be on the next page, so nobpdy will remember to laugh at me when I'm proven wrong.
