A bit silly compared to oother episodes so far. The old Murdoch-esque media mogul has been done lots of times before.

It seems that Bad Wolf TV is just another news channel.

Deffo the weakest episode so far.
The Bad Wolf thing is getting very tedious too. It seems the entire world knows about it in Doctor Who - past, present and future, so erm why do the audience not have a f_ing clue what it really means?? |

Anyone else think the ending was very lazy? All she had to do was think, and she blew the blob up.

![]() Thought this was great, a good story and Pegg was excellent, as was the girl who played Cathlica was good too (and rather good looking I thought). This series just goes from strength to strength - I look forward to Saturday evening soo much now.

I mean, crap as it was, at least AOL/WW3 didn't feel like "oops, only 5 minutes to go, lets throw in some anti-plastic" |

RTD has definitely peppered the series with stuff about free thinking, humans being sheep-like etc, so this kinda fits in with that. |

Isn't it funny how, like it or not, we're all being dragged into the multimedia aspect of the "fiction" of the programme?

I gave it "good", I think it's probably about the fourth best, probably equal with "Rose", but behind "Dalek" the 3rd one and the 2nd one. I notice people seem to be getting alot more critical than they were with "Rose", even though I don't think it was much different, quality wise, as I've mentioned before, I think that's because the "honeymoon period" is wearing off.
Sure there was a bit of sillyness, but I'm starting to accept there's always going to be a bit in every Dr W episode (even "Dalek" had some, with the Dalek trying the keypad for millions of combinations without the keypad wearing out or burning out (and hows that make it a genius?) and the "downloading of the internet"). I thought the doctor wandering up to level 500 without much caution was a bit daft, plus noone immediately to meet them, same with the girl, the way she just wandered around level 500. The answerphone bit was also daft, as well as the mobile phone calls back to present day - that was ok for a bit of a joke, but it's wore thin. The "key to the tardis" as well, surely he isn't going to protect the Tardis with a key anyone can use? The ending was a bit unsatisfying, "give me full access" or whatever, then she can totally takeover. Errrr, ok. Perhaps it could have been better fleshed out if the level 500 access point had been described as a special access point that gave full control. Ok, perhaps she could do that because of what the doctor did in that cupboard, but it was a bit unsatisfying Plus sides I thought were Simon Pegg, who was great. I'm surprised that the corrie guy has been slagged so much, I think he's a pretty good actor and gave a good performance. I liked the social commentary, that the human race is quite often sheep who only think what the media tells them to think. I thought the alien was ok, but might have been better if it had been some huge alien brain in a huge tank, instead, being fed all the information. Did it need to have teeth? Did it need to snarl alot? That didn't seem to match up with it's supposed intelligence. Like most people are saying, some good ideas, that could have been better thought out. But not all bad either. |

OK, I'm tired, and have given up reading!
Just to say, I thought it was a good episode, but not as good as ones before it. I'll jump straight to the point I want to make about timelines. Surely by taking Adam back with the hole in his head, the Doctor has changed the timeline? Will Van Staten not notice this? I can't see Adam going through the rest of his life without someone clicking their fingers in the same room as him. Next week's looks good - creatures that try and sort the timeline (Will they be "goodies" or "baddies", because they will be trying to put right what someone else has done wrong?)

Last night I was rabbiting on about the opening theme, I stated the opening theme was slightly different.
I think this may bare no influence on the underlying story but this is what I have discovered since. Having heard from another poster here yesterday that they heard no difference to the theme yesterday, I enquired with people that recorded last nights episode. Now for those of you that have heard the new theme in its entirity as heard when broadcast on the Radio early in march will be aware. At the start of the theme there is a noise I cant discribe but its the same noise used when the cyberman invade london in "the Invasion" like an alarm noise. Every since first hearing the theme early in march that much was clear, you can also clearly here the noise on the "trip of a lifetime" promo. Now last night I claimed that there was a difference in the theme, that I had not heard before, someone I communicate with online and is a bit of a Doctor Who fanatic I thought may have heard this. I also taped mine via sky digital and thought maybe the noise was interference. Now this person I e-mailed said (he recorded his off of digital TV not sky) that as billie pipers name dissapeared and the Doctor Who logo appeared this noise the same I referred to earlier was heard. I then went back to my recording whacked the headphones on and sure enough under the theme is this noise. To be sure I put Dalek in, the noise was not there. It may just be a RTD/Murray Gold joke but I thought it worth mentioning as I heard it last night, and at first thought I was going round the twist or it was interference. But now I know it is not. Now baring in mind a few other people on this post mentioned hearing Rose's alarm clock (and some mentioning different sounds sometimes clogging out the diaglogue) I wondered if there was a possibility of a sort of message in the sound broadcasts. One more thing the same person that verified the noise also commented that when the tardis comes out a time vortex and flashes its light in the background is a ball of flames or "something" he claims that on certain episodes this image variates slightly whatever it is behind the Tardis that is, I seem to recall whether it was on here on an outpost forum someone thinking it was a exploding planet, and someone stating they had seen ghostly images coming off whatever it was. Anyway sorry for the long post, but I thought it was worth mentioning. |
