Edit: OK, I've sent the request. Well I think this is the first episode that will touch on it. This is one of the episodes I guessed on what the content would be about. I guessed it would deal with propaganda, and from what I've read about this episode it looks like I speculated correctly. If Earth eventually gets involved (or even starts) a Time War, then propaganda and religion are bound to be featured in the later episodes. |

Still, not long now til we find out Cj I originally thought the Editor would edit reality by effectively editing people by taking them from one time zone, then placing them in another. That would be what an Editor would actually do. Like editing real film by rearranging what order a clip is played, but only doing it with people instead. cutting people from one time zone, then pasting them in another. Editing people as though time is a strip of film. But I think if that's what's involved it would be more likely to feature in episode 12. So I changed my mind a bit and suspect that that "games" thing will happen later. And that in this episode, Simon Pegg is literally an Editor in the truer sense. Editing news itself. If he is editing reality, I think it's probably just the reality of the news. Don't know for sure. Tonight's episode and episode 12 seem to have a lot in common, but I'm sure they'll try and deal with different main themes, and main ideas, or episodes might tend to be too similar too each other. Anyway, I've managed to cover my back again by saying it still "might" happen.

So I have a strong feeling that this week, we may see the Doctor and Rose fall into a Time Rift, and appear in an Earth of an alternate universe. But I might be wrong too. Hopefully by the end of the episode this thread will be on the next page, so nobpdy will remember to laugh at me when I'm proven wrong. ![]() As you mentioned the Doctor seems to have got his history confussed but he insists that it's perfect, also, The Doctor stated a few weeks back that the entire population of the Earth, 5 billion, would be wiped out, surely The Doctor would know that the Earth's population is 6 Billion and I remember The Moxx of Balhoon saying "Indubatably, this is the Bad Wolf scenario. I find the inherent (?) laxity of the ongoing multiverse permutation (?)" I think that he was reffering to an alternate universe/timeline. Of course I may be totally wrong, and I''ll be hiding behind you incase I am

So Rupert Murdock is still in control of the media in the future.

OK, so I was wrong, lol
*hides* ![]() It was down to "Max" that the time line was different. But I do still think that there is an alternate universe/timeline in place. |

Definitely the low point of the series so far. I suppose the high standard cannot be maintained throughout all the episodes. I voted Fair.
Now we know Rose causes the time shift. |

Just goes to show you can't trust the Radio Times. I thought it was a very good episode.

I found that very unsatisfying. Consider the range of feelings and thoughts evoked by last week's episode and this one is just flat.

Well, it was ok..........
It was probably better than I expected, didn't like the trailer, and the Radio Times 'blurb' put me right off. But, in fact it was ok, a nice little romp. Prefered it to the 'ailiens of london/ world war 3' eps, but it all seemed a bit...I dunno...light??..or rather, trying to be dark and not quite making it.... nice enough tale, but no real wow value. Maybe I've just been spoiled by 'Dalek'. Still loving the series though....I've no intention of missing an episode! A |

I really enjoyed this episode
I thought that it was a very interesting concept, however, a lot did seem to be jammed into 45 minutes and it just seemed to fly by, if that's a good thing or not, I'm not quite sure yet. lol

What was with that monster???
I've seen more convincing monsters in Hammer Horror films. Are we really to believe that this one creature - that's unable to move(!) - has managed to enslave 1 million planets worth of humans? It's not hard to see why this episode got rejected when RTD submitted it the first time. Including it in his own season is just egotistical and somewhat arrogant. |
