That is one of the things I have been mulling over. How many pictures did he take with Rose's phone and send them back.

I thought it was a bit weird that he sent the messages back to his own answerphone. Why send the messages back to somewhere he hadn't lived at for some time. Surely he had been living at some Geocomtex accomodation? I'm sure the call home was a red herring to put The Doctor off the scent. I'm convinced that he made other calls to Geocomtex that we didn't see.

I doubt even an Adric-esque genius could figure out the technology behind the TARDIS in that short amount of time. Especially with all the gerryrigging that the Doctor has done over his centuries of travel in it.

I honestly believe that we've seen the last of Adam, at least for this season... I think he'll heed the Doctor's caution and avoid making himself the target of anyone wanting advanced technology.

I've still gone cold on the Bad Wolf theory after that line tonight. Either it IS all a red herring or RTD is thrusting the "meme" so far down our throats that it's becoming so obvious even a ST-VOY fan could work it out. Which I'd be disappointed at.

Some people like to be spiteful

In answer to your question, I don't think that Adam will be returning, not in this series at least, perhaps the next or even a future one. What you have read I think is speculation.

Bad Wolf - There have been various references to "Bad Wolf" in the episodes, what "Bad Wolf" is no one knows for sure yet but there are many speculations on it

Brilliant! I think you might just be right. It would be a shame, cos it's a pretty mundane explanation for something that I think we were hoping would be a lot more sinister! Mind you, the idea of the whole galaxy 'knowing' the name of a game show...

K”

Thanks, actually you might be right in thinking it would be a shame, because we do still want to be surprised really don't we?
I'm hoping that when we find out how it all fits together we'll be kicking ourselves.

Mind you, the reality TV thing would be sinister, very sinister.
Especially if it's just a piece of sideshow entertainment as a supplement to major wars and deaths of planets.

The destruction of Gallifrey was probably watched as reality entertainment. In a way that would be more horrific than if it was just a conventional war. To know that it is being enjoyed as light entertainment by people makes it much worse than it normally would be

When I say that events may be viewed as reality TV entertainment, I don't mean it's all pretend. I'm imagining events as real wars where millions actually die for real. I'm just speculating that observers are just watching such things for their own pleasure and profit.
They may probably even try to influence events to some extent, by messing with time a bit.

There was something I read about the Daleks being involved in the destruction of Gallifrey, or something vague like that. If so, then maybe they were given a little push in the direction to attack Gallifrey.

Thats a chilling thought *shudder*

Maybe if "Bad Wolf" is some kind of perverse future reality show it started off on one planet, perhaps Gallifrey, but then became so popular that it spread throughout the galaxy with the last remaining Timelord being the star of the show ?

Wasn't Nigel Kneales 'Year of the Sex Olympics' about reality TV, and didn't the viewers get off on the fact that people were being murdered by a psychopath for real? I'd say that was pretty sinister. I find the whole thought of reality TV pretty sinister to be honest. I am not a big fan of the genre myself. But it seems to have the majority of the world hooked. JUst thought of something else - 1984 is a pretty sinister novel!

Is it just me, or is that another "fake" site...? A Bad-Wolf discussion forum?

I for one voted this as excellent:

The "poor" set design:

I think it was supposed to be poor; low-minded McD_$ type decor for the brainwashed masses. The Doctor thought he was taking Rose to the zenith of human achievement - a multicultural utopia of excellence and good taste. They ended up landing in "Chavs in Space". AND IT WAS WRONG! WRONG WRONG WRONG. But that, dear reader was part of the plot!

The not-so-credible alien:

Again, done on purpose. In Confidential RTD said that there is something behind this, to be revealed later. "Max" joins the Slitheen and the Nestene in the rank of pawns.

The Editor:

Well done Simon Pegg! He could have played it way over the top, but instead he reigned it in just enough to make the character live. A nasty little "media type" if ever there was one!

Adam:

I must admit that Bruno Langley was a weak link, but the way his character got his cum-uppence was classic. Fancy having all that knowledge but not being able to use it for fear of being dissected. Check mate! Of course, he could always wear a turban...

Plotlines:

Yes, the timeline is being mucked about with - exactly who/what is behind it will be revealed. It's the why that interests me!

Manipulation by the media - not a novel idea, but one that is very germane in theses uncertain times. I liked the way that Max(well) took on Mur(Doc)

Bad Wolf TV - we're back to playing games (as I have mentioned in a post that would be easier to find if we had a Sci-Fi Forum!!! )

Adam - influenced by VanStratton, he had big plans for his own future at the expense of the timeline - a microcosm of the Who macrocosm?

I'll probably post more a bit later (you lucky, lucky people )

Sorry that your post didn't get answered crazypanda. The thread was probably moving fast so your post got missed.

I don't think that Adam comes back again, as I don't think he's in the cast listings for any future episodes.

The wolf thing, is about a repeated reference to "Bad Wolf" in just about every single episode so far. Sometimes it's very subtle, and at other times it's actually mentioned by characters in the programme.
Nobody knows for sure what "Bad Wolf" actually means just yet, and that's why it's a puzzle that we always try to work out on these Doc Who threads.

I think Earth is very central to the storyline in this series though, so it all has to interconnect and revolve around Earth itself.

If you scroll back and read entries: 79, 81, 83, 84 and 92, you'll see that, as far as we can tell, Adam won't be back this season. However, as noted in (I think) the WW3 DW thread (no, I haven't got a record of the postings that refer!), the IMDB may be incorrect as it makes use of information supplied by unofficial sources.

As CreativEssence said, there are many "BadWolf" theories. It's like a 'logo' for the program - turning up in the script at odd times. It's referenced on the official DW website too. I think the most cogent idea is the one that Alrightmate put forward (it's the first really long post this week and has been quoted by others) but trying to work out what it might mean has been the subject of much fingerwork over the past 6 weeks...

Don't be put off by the occasional "sniffy" post. These threads get pretty tortuous and I think it's unfair of anyone to criticise anyone else for not being able to keep track of it all!

The IMDb is reknown for getting information wrong, especially non-US television shows.

Adam obviously visited the site when he was 14 years old and won the competition. This means that he has already had contact with Mickey. Mickey knows about the TARDIS. Does this mean that Adam already has knowledge of the TARDIS before he goes to work for Van Statten? He has certainly heard of The Doctor and Rose before, if he has been to the website! I don't think we have heard the last of Adam. I think he will be back at Geocomtex telling them everything he knows.

I have this gut feeling that Geocomtex are going to figure in this more as well.

MF”

Ooooo, now that is an interesting thought !

If Adam had prior knowlege of The Doctor, Rose and the TARDIS, which for a moment we will assume he does, might he have helped them to try to go with them for some reason ?

He did seem very dissapointed that The Doctor refused to take him at the end of tonight's episode, but of course that could just be his dissapointment due to his realisation that he has screwed up a once in a life time oppotunity, lol

But it does remain that he NOW has knowledge of The Doctor, Rose and the TARDIS, so even if he didn't before, he does have that knowledge now and who knows what he may do with it !
