The LG V10 was yet another phone that wasn't released in the UK much like the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. The LG V10 won quite a few fans who were keen to import one. It looks like its successor may be called the V20 although V11 was thought to be a possible name. Rumour has it the phone will launch in September 2016.

LG annoyed me so much over the indecision of the V10 that I wouldn't listen to a thing they say. The UK website featured the V10 and they told the press they were releasing it, then they weren't, then they were, then I emailed LG support (as did many others) due to the confusion and they told me that it definitely was being released and would be available 'in the very near future' then 2 weeks later they started replying to people saying there would be no UK launch.

I went to all the trouble of sourcing one from Germany because I had decided that was the phone I was going to buy and had waited and waited for it and waited weeks to find out the UK launch was cancelled. Not sure I want to go through that again and if it doesn't get a UK release then Three won't support it on 800Mhz, even through InTouch.

I feel really let down by LG. A bit like Motorola (Lenovo). Indeed, also Wileyfox. Crikey - what's going on where 2016 has been a year of disappointing phones? I guess margins are getting tighter all the time, so corners are being cut.

I was disappointed with my G5 (and even the G4 wasn't great, even though both had great cameras) and so I can only hope LG gets it right next time. The V10 definitely seemed to beat the G4 on many levels, so hopefully the V11/20 might be the one this time - IF they release it here.

LG has confirmed that the LG V20 will be revealed on September 6 in San Francisco and it looks like it will be the very first phone to launch with Android Nougat.

I wonder if there's a UK event around this (which would mean a chance of it coming here).

LG needs to do something, as it has had a pretty poor year so far.

The G5 isn't that bad, it just brings nothing to the table whatsoever.

The dual camera design is quite cool. I do like that.

The phone is okay, but there were/are quality control issues. The real problem is the lack of marketing around it, hence poor sales. That bit is within LG's control - and is an ongoing problem.

It's a shame as the G5, like the G4 and the G3 are all excellent devices for certain things, like the camera side. But with a few issues regarding firmware and updates, and some battery life problems I found on the G4, it always makes me feel like I couldn't really have one as my daily driver.

Aptx isn't to be sniffed at, and the modularity had potential to be good if they had put a bit more thought into it.

I think we are at a stage where there is little left to bring to the table, what would you like it to do, make the tea?

As I mentioned in another thread I've just bought a G5 fully expecting to have issues with build, but no such issues, I am keeping it. I think LG's biggest crime here was making such a huge deal about the metal build, and people instantly assumed that means metal finish.

I think its a worthy flagship, I welcome its 'failure' as it means I paid significantly less for the G5 than any other SD820 /4GB phone.

I have been saying since the iPhone 4 that making phones comparable to jewellery is a slippery slope, and now we have reached a point where silicon-heads are marking down awesomely specced, capable kit because it isn't shiny enough

There is that. Both the G4 and G5 plummeted in price quite quickly.

Problem is, anyone selling them will hate that and won't be rushing to sell future LG devices.

Let's hope it's better than that monstrosity the G5. They dropped a ball with that one. Also, I hope they don't have the problems of the G4 batches with the bootloop issues.

Agreed - and it wasn't so much that thousands of G4's suffered from the bootloop, it was the utter denial of a problem by LG for many months which let them down badly. Even now, people are having to wait for many weeks to get their phones fixed by LG.

In the light of this, it'll be a long, long time before I could be persuaded to buy another LG product. Even if the V20 does look like the nuts!

This is a phone I'd really like to see come to the UK, but alas it doesn't appear it will - and I spoke to Clove who did sell the V10 to be told it doesn't look likely anytime soon.

Maybe worth importing, but probably not given current exchange rates.

Sad, as this phone looks really nice.

I imported the V10 only to find Three didn't support it with 800Mhz, won't be making that mistake again.

I think the V10 got very few firmware updates compared to the G4, so that's possibly a problem - especially if it has a limited release and mostly carrier-branded models.

VoLTE is indeed another problem, but a problem the industry should be sorting out. Android allows carrier settings over the air just like Apple, yet nobody seems to yet use them.

Strange I'm torn now, I like the iPhone 7 plus but £800 for decent storage, more if I want the wireless headphones, that's crazy.

I also couldn't manually band switch or even force 4G then, and also no google maps in the car on CarPlay, so lots of downsides. I'd be slightly worried about getting robbed with those wireless earbuds in, they are very unique and it also means you almost certainly have an £800 iPhone in your pocket.

I really like my V10, but it is a year old now and looking around, but nothing excites me.
