- Totally agree! I am rather enjoying this twist in the game! It has thrown everyone for a loop and that's how you keep things fresh. If viewers want things to remain predictable and stagnant, they can watch something else. I mean seriously, get a grip.

The "YOU DECIDE" element of BB exists no more. After Helen Wood was given immunity, I didn't watch until this series. I have realised that it's pointless to think of this as true Big Brother as the fundamental principles of the original show have gone.

On that basis, I only think the twists would have been unfair to Lateysha or any one of them under the old rules. New BB is apparently based on the idea that the producers can introduce any twists they want at any time and that THEY decide. Anything goes. So I have decided to accept it and enjoy it on this basis without comparing it to the good old days ... and, bearing this in mind, I will never spend a penny on voting again.

Sad Lateysha's gone. It was a sensible choice for Jason since he thought she was likely to win. What I noticed was how devastated Alex appeared to be. I 've got a feeling his feelings went quite deeply for her. He really isn't interested in Evelyn and her affectations. I liked Lateysha and hoped she would win. I've really gone off Jason now even though I understand hes reasons.

Yes and it's the most important one, 'the conspiracy theory' cry every time someone you don't like makes it further and someone you do like gets booted out

He was so devastated he shouted after her that he wasn't coming in to say goodbye and gave her a hug in the garden instead I saw him with his hands over his face but that wasn't crying he was hiding it was a big fat grin knowing he was one step closer to winning and someone else had done the dirty work for him

Were her gang all going to stand aside to let her just lift the prize money?

I am enjoying it too though I feel like I have to hide my glee and pretend to mourn a sad passing of something great

I am sure Lateysha will get over it and manage to scrape a few pounds together from interviews etc, to feed her poor starving child.

Exactly. But he was the "older" eccentric housemate he doesn't "deserve to be there". Neither does Jayne apparently also because she's not 20 ...

Don't think anyone disagrees with that.

The point was that the annihilation twist went from being the lowest the show has ever sunk on the forum to the best twist Channel 5 has ever come up with in the space of two days.

And there's the rub. Hence the indignation in the house when she left, she herself had already labelled the HMs as either strong or weak, putting herself in the middle...as if.

The fact that she saw HMs as strong or weak means that she was watching from the inside instead of getting on with being an HM. For me she was too aware of who and what was popular or unpopular and she wasn't slow in ostracising someone either.

Sweet smiley 'I'm funny as f***' 'Lateysha knew exactly what she was doing.

BB needs to shed people, this was their way of doing so, not the best but it's the best we are going to get and at the beginning of the week I was convinced we were going to lose most of the people on Lateysha's 'weak' list. I for one am quite pleased that that didn't happen, we have to put up with what's thrust upon us, so it's good when it doesn't go exactly as BB hoped it would.

Someone had to go, I wonder if the indignation outside would be so strong if it had been Jayne or Sam? After all Chelsea left on Monday and he's had very little indignation on his behalf that I have seen.

The game is the game, they play it , we watch it. Big Brother as it was died a long time ago, you either move on and find a new way of watching and appreciating or you move on completely.

Since I never vote, I couldn't care less the order these contestants depart, nor how. This show hasn't even been remotely honest for at least 10 years. As long as they stop trying to force love stories, I don't care.

That said, I'm glad Lateysha was thrown out. It was funny.

Ha ha. I really surprised myself. I was dreading Annihilation Wk but have found myself reluctantly enjoying it. Even though Chelsea's departure was predictable I did like the 12 Angry HMs premise. Even if it was an anticlimax.

But last night was fantastic. I was genuinely excited to see who pressed the buzzer. I can't remember the last time I was looking forward to an episode, let alone a midweek one.

I half expected the eviction to be a bit of another anticlimax with Jayne predictably going so my mind was blown.

If they've killed off BB as we know it (which they did years ago) I could get back on board with more of this. If they're going to bury BB they might as well go whole hog. Dance on its grave sure. It's not a reality show anymore, it's a game show. I'm completely ok with that.

It's BB in name only but I'm happy for it to remain known as BB. Who knows, maybe one day when we've gone full circle with this scripted reality tripe they'll be looking to rejuvenate the show and decide to 'reinvent' and go back to basics. That would be novel.

ETA: The DS article on Annihilation Wk sums it up for me nicely. Link to it on another thread.

Big brother can change the rules at any time. She was full of self delusion and , I am glad she went. No one should think they have the right to win.

I think those who were 'annhialiated' are being shafted by being voted out by their housemates. So yes, I see why Lateysha is annoyed, because she stood a good chance of winning. Personally, I have no judgements on why she went on the show; she went to get money for herself and her daughter and that is fine. I just think you cannot expect to win anything in a show like this. Who is most deserving does not really enter the equation.

It could have been anyone pressing the button and anyone going. I don't see why it was unfair to Leyticia when they all know that BB pulls some nasty stunts. Not one of them has to go in there if they don't want to, and some try year after year to get in the BB house.

I think Lateshya will do alright for herself, just as a result of being on BB.

It's been bad luck for Chelsea and Lateshya, but riveting viewing!

It's interesting that only 4 of the housemates pressed the button; Jason, Jackson, Laura and Hughie.

Jackson seemed to think he'd got in first.

Jason seems to be either loved or loathed for evicting Lateshya.

Andy got lucky with immunity.

At least it's not boring!

People are very quick to forget that one of BB's main rules is that it can change the rules at any time. It's a gameshow in its 17th year, it needs to change to keep it interesting. BB has never been a 'fair' game.

The whole thing has been hilarious entertainment and it reminds me of the old series where BB had total control. At the start of this series, the housemates were taking the piss out of BB, escaping into the camera runs, ruining the second-house twist, generally treating the show like they were in charge, etc. But with Annihilation Week, BB has taken back the power and I LOVE it. I hope it continues.
