Obviously lower figure than Hughie's

And that's the point, Hughie doesn't like that he looks bad about pushing the button, so he goes on the attack against someone else. Hughie is rubbish at holding up his hands and owning his words and actions.

But he can teach everyone how to argue, everyone

Give over Hughie. He's rivalling Andy in the self-appointed moral arbiter stakes.

He's just so bloody longwinded. Alex should have shut that down sooner. He's a nuisance.

With the Big Brother 2016 prize money diminishing, Hughie Maughan isn't happy.
http://www.tellymix.co.uk/reality-tv...ize-money.html

The total now stands at £70,000 after Jason Burrill took £20k and Alex Cannon and Jackson Blyton each pocketed £5k in another twist.

Hughie wasn't happy with Alex's decision, accusing him of being hypocritical following the previous prize money task the day before.

"When we were in [the task room, the £20,000] was 100% going to come off [the prize fund] and you said you'd never take money out of someone's pocket," Hughie claimed.

Alex explained there was a difference between £20,000 and £5,000: "I said I'd never take £20,000 out of someone's pocket."

"It's the same principle," Hughie told him.

"It's not," insisted Alex.

Hughie ranted: "You've completely and utterly contradicted yourself from last night. It's rubbish and right now you're trying to justify yourself."

"If it was £20k, I wouldn't take it," insisted Alex.

As Ryan defended him against Hughie, Alex went on to say he chose to take the money for the other luxuries it provided as part of a new 'rich' and 'poor' task.

"I'm having a s**t time here... I want to enjoy myself, I might leave here in another day," said Alex. "It wasn't even about the 5 grand, just because I'm not moping around doesn't mean I'm not struggling.

"You don't know what I'm missing out on the outside, you haven't got a f**king clue, lad."

So I'm guessing Hughie chose poor.

Alex and Ryan chose rich.

Evelyn certainly chose poor I think too.
Jackson chose rich but he's going to give everyone a fiver from his £5k

His point was, as far as I can determine, is that Alex said, just the other day, that he would never take money from the winners pocket.

The next day, Alex takes 5k from the winners pocket
Yes but Alex was specific about saying he wouldn't take £20k from someone's pocket which is basically the winning fund and in this instance it was only £5k so I suppose he can square it as he lived up to his word by not pressing for the £20k. Also I think the added luxuries make it a very different proposition.

I find it funny that Hughie would have taken the £20k and is giving Alex a hard time over taking only £5k. He really wants to make a point and could certainly attempt that here but he doesn't listen and is incapable of shifting when responses are given so he just sounds like he is repeating a mantra and ends up sounding basically stubborn and stupid.

Hughie was going to take £20K out of the winner's pocket.

This is just a stick to beat Alex with in their ongoing feud.

Can I guess before I watch...

Hughie tries to explain his annoyance, Alex nods along like one of those dog toys... Hughie gets angry because Alex isn't listening, it all gets loud and both look like turds?

Edit - just watched and yep spot on.

I couldn't understand a word of what Alex was saying.

IMO, Alex comes across very well. Articulate in fact. And I understand his reasoning.

I see this as one of those arguments where they both look bad...

Alex said he would never take money out of the winners pocket.... and he did. 20K or 5K it's still money

Hughie is the wrong person to call someone out for taking money out of the winner's pocket b/c he was about to take money out of the winner's pockets (Jason just beat him to it).

Yeah I totally get why he took it, but it is contradictory as I'm sure he said yesterday he wouldn't take any money from the prize fund?

There's nothing to defend. Hughie's being a self-righteous knobhead.

But Hughie was happy to take 20K and evict someone.
And he said he was gonna share the 20K between everyone just like Jackson said, funny that guess he won't get as much shtick for it as Jackson though.

I don't know what he actually said, but Ryan even said Alex stated he wouldn't take the 20k from the prize fund. Not that he wouldn't take any money at all.

For example, I wouldn't have pressed for the 20k because i wouldn't want to evict anyone as that would put a target on my back.

But i WOULD have taken the 5k because it was pretty risk-free.

Somebody raised a good point about Hughie on Twitter, maybe he gets in all these arguments because he is being honest to people's faces and not bitching behind their backs like the others?

Hmmm

Hughie is alright with Ryan and Jackson taking 5k but not Alex
Because Alex was part of that conversation with Laura and Evelyn saying he wouldnt take money.Laura is also being a hypocrite for not taking £5k when she went on about wanting £20K. Jackson buzzed £20K and took £5K.That is Huhgie's point, consitency, and I agree.

This is true. The others are probably thinking the same thing but won't confront Alex,
