During my usual random youtube browsing (I was actually looking at a car video I'm interested in at a main dealer near me, bizarrely) I came across this 'busker' (it's almost derisory to call her that imo) and she's blown me away. Know nowt about her apart from her name and the fact she apparently writes her own stuff and has an amazing voice (oh, and on a shallow level she's pretty gorgeous and pint-sized!)

I think it’s worth saying on the streets of this country you do see some outstanding musical talent that it seems perverse aren't getting offers to make records. I understand if they can put up with the rain, cold, and whatever laws each town has on busking many artists have found they can make a healthy living off it if they have the talent.

Contrast this with trying to get into chart music and having to keep spending your own money to get noticed, to pay for videos, plugging, networking and promotion that might all come to nothing and you can see why busking is an attractive option to musicians that have the stamina for it.
