Doncaster looked good at Fratton Park today and if this is representative of them they will be very near the top next May.

Portsmouth had a good home record, but to be fair Barnet, Wycombe and Crawley are not exactly a nailed on trio for promotion. We get to play a decent team who got into us and would not give us time and we choked.

Any reason why they didn't delay kick off to see if weather improve instead of playing for 10 mins then call off the match?
I guess they had come so close to kick off without any rain that they thought it would be fine but the rain got worse first 10 minutes. Had to be abandoned

Lost 3-1 at Mansfield today. We're Mansfield's cup final and even though Mansfield were poor, Notts weren't much better and Mansfield played the dirty football needed to win. 3 defeats in a row against Mansfield is unacceptable

We'll bounce back against Morecambe in our game in hand on Tuesday

Tidy win for Pompey at Orient - only 1-0 but could have been a few more.

Big match next week at Plymouth - for both teams. Pity Sky have decided not to show League 2 this season.

Poor performance from Notts, losing 2-1 to Morecambe tonight. Only excitement was when Notts got our goal back late on, by that time most fans had already left

Crewe at home on Saturday. We normally beat Crewe...

1-1 draw for County at home to Crewe today. Forte scores for County on 80 minutes, only for Crewe to equalise pretty much straight after from poor defending. So typical. Crewe possibly had a shot that crossed the line but 2 dropped points, especially with Portsmouth away next week

Only 2 teams in the top leagues are currently unbeaten, Spurs is one, and you have the other - Carlisle. Great hopes for them this season!!

Things just got interesting as County win 2-1 at Portsmouth in a very lucky and unexpected win without Jon Stead. Campbell stepped up to score twice in Stead's absence and County were massively under siege after Collins was wrongly sent off. This result has made me realise that most teams including County aren't outstanding and we do have a shot at promotion. Quality atmosphere at Fratton Park

I'm confident for Luton next week but we're dire at home

Pompey should have been out of sight by half time, but as with last season, ineptitude in front of goal cost us, along with some comedy defending which can only be expected when you play most of the defenders out of position because we decided to pack the squad full of midfield players over the summer. One of the worst second half performances from Pompey for some time - must have been a some half time talk.

County full value for their win in the second half and don't think I heard many round me complaining too much about it.

This league table - Pompey are somehow still 5th. Take away two wins and we could be as low as 21st. If someone puts three wins together, they will be in the play offs.

This top 3 now will not be too unlike the top 3 in May.

I was unbelievably nervous as Notts defended the away end in the 2nd half. Though we'd thrown it away by going down to 10 men. What did you think of the red card incident by the way? I think Portsmouth will lose in the play offs again

I was in the Fratton End behind the goal and it looked nasty. However some mates were in the North Stand lower and were side on to it and they believe there was no contact, although Collins (?) did jump in late so could have been bad if it did. If the red card had come just after half time it might have been more of an issue, but with just 15 minutes to go and with Pompey already having made all their subs to take any real tactical advantage of it, the effects were minimal. People leaving 10 minutes before the end summed up our expectations. As at the Plymouth match, we took Chaplin and Bennett off who were looking lively, and replaced them with a carthorse who barely got a touch, then moved our central defender up front after taking a striker off.

I think its a lottery at the moment with about 6 points between 5th and 21st place. I think we have insufficient strength in depth to maintain any form of challenge and won't be in the play offs - we already have to play a midfielder at right back, and had to bring on another midfielder to cover left back yesterday. I think we missed our chance last year.

My mates were right - no contact with the goalkeeper, and red card rescinded. Just as well as we could do with him having a good game against Luton!

0-0 draw against Luton which was actually a surprisingly good game. Both teams went for it but equally were solid defensively when they needed to be. Notts missed a penalty but even then a draw is a good result as both teams could be up there at the end of the season

League break as we play Boreham Wood and Sunderland U21's in the cups before Blackpool away in 2 weeks

Although this is a League 2 thread, we (Pompey) lost to Wycombe in the cup yesterday with yet another 2-1 defeat. Although we rested a few key players, we had our preferred defence in place for once, and it was worrying how Akinfenwa was able to outpace all of them. And more basic goalkeeping errors.

He did get a big(ish) round of applause from our lot when he was subbed late on which is rare for opposition players, and posed for some photos with my son and many other Pompey kids before the match. Looks nasty but is a really nice guy.

County came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 at Boreham Wood. We were poor for a lot of the game but showed character in coming back to avoid a repeat of Salford last year. So cold and wet on the open terrace

Horrible no show from Notts as we lost 4-0 at Blackpool today. Defence was all over the place and toothless against a Blackpool side who were nothing special themselves. Sheridan got the line up horribly wrong starting Alan Smith up front among other things. Worst performance of the season by a mile

Two home games against Newport and Cambridge now which we really need to win and improve our home record

Portsmouth - must be the only supporters in the country who boo their team when they are winning, and head for the exits as soon as we double our lead. Embarrassing. Sod off and be a glory hunting armchair supporter of one of the franchise premiership clubs if the standards Pompey play are not good enough.

(Won 4-0 at home to Mansfield who had 2 sent off).

The high standards of Portsmouth are just bizarre. Who are these people and why boo? Portsmouth did what was expected against 9 men Mansfield

Not an expert on league two football I have Plymouth to win the league in a 4 team accumulator with other leagues .

Seven ahead is a decent lead but with the amount of games to be played it could easily be eaten away

Adam Murray leaves Mansfield. A bit surprising considering that they're relatively close to the play offs still. League is still very tight

Was just reading this story about NY Yankees and Notts County. That'll put Forest's nose out

I don't think it will happen. Too surreal to be true. Sounds like our owner Ray Trew is stirring things

Abysmal 3-0 defeat at home to a Newport side who we made look like Barcelona today. Two dreadful performances in a row, only positive is how bad League Two is in general.

Onto Cambridge on Tuesday now

Pompey scraped a point at Cheltenham today. Same old story.

This league is bonkers this year. Nearly half way in and only 8 points between bottom and a play off place.
