I don't think it was about the money, it was about 'the consequences'. Most of them anticipated something bad. In the Real World, if someone offered £5 grand, with zero strings attached, of course, you'd have to be slightly off-balance or rich to turn it down [and you'd probably assume it would go to someone more worthy and be 'buying' feel good points].

Same. And I'm not convinced any noble turning their nose up at money is much to do with the HMs but how they'll look to the public.

I would have chosen rich tonight for the treats and avoiding basic rations as much as anything. With not long left I'd want to enjoy it. 5k would be a bonus.

I would have pressed the button for the £20k and like Jason, not so much for the money but if I knew I'd be the one likely to be kicked out then I'd want the opportunity to kick someone else out instead. I wouldn't have taken the £5k as that was a stupid diversion designed to cause problems and I hope I wouldn't fall for that. However the argument isn't about taking the money it is about Alex and Jackson acting like the moral arbiters of money taking and then pooing all over their principles and taking it whilst squirming and manipulating to try to make it all seem alright I certainly wouldn't do that.

I don't blame Alex and Jackson for taking 5K It's just there reactions, Hughie was right about Alex he did say he wouldn't touch the prize fund but did, and Jackson well just being as sly as ever, you both took 5K live with it.

It doesn't. I can't possibly know what each individuals reasons are. Just a possibility, a general impression from all the to-do some are making about it. Could be wrong but I wouldn't rule out a bit of performing for our benefit.

It's not about taking the money it's about Jackson acting like he's some sort of Messiah when he is clearly not. Watching him makes me want to laugh and cry. It's just pathetic. Next he will be cleaning he can turn his pee to wine.

You could guarantee it. He was crying about his 'good' reputation being damaged etc. But if everyone else had grabbed the money, how would that have restored his good reputation?

I would like to say that I don't necessarily see HMs trying to show themselves in a good light for the cameras as an altogether bad thing. Rather than disreputable I find it mostly understandable. I think most of us consider how we come across in any setting in life so I'd certainly expect it in a show were you're being judged by viewers.

And I never liked the criticism 'too aware of the cameras'. There's a difference between a fake, contrived persona and just wanting to make a good impression and trying to make sure that comes across.

I would have taken the £20,000 and then the £5,000 and hoped I would have won the remaining as well. I really need that kind of money right now to persue my ultimate dreams of being a professional actor, so that amount of money would be life-changing for me personally.

Yes, I think that was Jackson thinking he'd screwed up and it was damage limitation. Being seen as the good guy seems very important to him.
