First series of Daredevil is still my favourite recent thing from Netflix but I am yet to try Narcos.
Try 'Pablo Escobar: El Patrón del Mal' it is also on Netflix and is a far superior Colombian production. It is a marathon to watch (over 70 episodes) but it is engrossing and IMO much better than the Netflix production.

Is it worth watching if you've already sat through the Netflix one?

You pretty much are, it's the only reason people can't wait to say the word 'overrated'.

So what it's set in the 80s? To me the show was good because of the characters and an interesting story, but yes I also liked the 80s vibe.
Yeah, that's right, highlight that part and leave out the next few words which change the entire meaning of the sentence. Good job.

If you like the show, great. You're probably the target audience in which the show runners have done their jobs. I'm not, which is why I can see it objectively and not behind the rose tinted glasses of nostalgia.

I wasn't really smitten with this but then I wasn't mad keen on the sort of 80s family-friendly sci--fi horror films it pays homage to. I found myself literally fast-forwarding through scenes featuring the high shcool romance sub-plot.

There's plenty of good things about it just not quite my bag...except for the original music which is right up my street.

OK thanks for the tip although the thought of 70 eps is somewhat intimidating.

Meant to highlight it all actually, but didn't for some reason. The point still stands, if this wasn't so popular you wouldn't have said it was over rated.

As I said before, it's fine if you or anyone don't like this, doesn't bother me, but don't come up with reasons like ''it's for nerdy people or for over 40s' or try and say we only like it because of this or that. We just enjoyed the show, it's as simple as that. Nostalgia? I was born in 1984 and I don't remember much from that era so well, if it was set in the 90s than maybe, but to say people watched it through rose tinted glasses of nostalgia is another silly thing to say.

You did give your reasons why you didn't like it though, which I can respect more.

I would say it is, the story goes a lot deeper into his upbringing and early years (before all the American involvement). The acting is also superb. It is a good series to binge watch during cold winters evenings (which are rapidly approaching).

Just finished watching this and thought it was really good, I think you need to set aside a whole day to get through it because its really addictive. The best way I can describe it is like Silent Hill meets Fringe

You're right. It was like a very long feature film.

I just finished watching it - loved it. However, I didn't find it at all feasible that Hopper made a deal with Brenner, based on 'I want your word' and then actually trusting him. What stopped Brenner just getting rid of Hop and Joyce? Did he think they didn't stand a chance of coming back after what happened to one of Brenner's men when he went through the gate?

I think they where expcting Joyce and Hopper not to return from the upside down, so the deal was made just to get the info on where they where hiding Eleven

Yes I guess that makes sense.

Just watched the whole series and thought it was excellent. Being a kid from the eighties it ticked all the right boxes for me. Looking forward to season two.

Fantastic show, could've been the origin of The Mist in a way. Strangely, I was content with how it all ended but will be interesting to see what season two brings.
BIB I thought this too, I always wondered how The Mist started!

I watched this at long last over xmas and i really enjoyed it

But i might be unpopular here when i say this. But i found Winona Ryder the worst thing about her. Her acting was really bad. I am surprised she has managed to bag the acclaim and award nominations. It's some of the hammiest acting I have seen in a while. I couldn't take or feel sorry for the character at all.

But Millie Bobby Brown. What a talent at such a young age. I think we have a future movie star on our hands here. In fact, the young cast really stole the show. The four young lads were brilliant.

Oh and JUSTICE FOR BARB please. Poor girl.

Ben Affleck was great as Eleven. I love how they managed make him look like a little girl.
