I get why they are two different votes, but can someone please clearly explain the differences to me.
I wonder if I am missing something major here, or is it mainly that people feel the need to pick up to save someone rather than pick up to evict them? Any replies would be appreciated thanks (and try to be patient and pleasant please)!

VTE benefits the quieter house mates; they have not given any/enough reasons for someone to pick up the phone to evict them. Therefore, quieter house mates are more likely to go in a VTS, as like VTE, they have not given someone enough reasons to pick up the phone to save them.

I am of the opinion that people are more inclined to want someone out, rather than want someone in. The differences are to CH5s revenue. Take tomorrow night for example, you would've had to vote to evict the person who you disliked = 1 phone call. In a vote to save you would need to make 4 phone calls, to have the same effect as one vote to evict.
They must be running short of cash, it annoys the hell out of me when they use premium rate lines for voting, even more expensive lines for entering the competitions. All channels are guilty of this practice, and it stinks.

If your favourite is a housemate that divides opinion - like Jason or Andy for instance, in a vote to evict they would be at risk because we would have to vote for all or many of the others to try and save them. In a vote to save, it is likely they would stay and the ones with little support would be more likely to go.

In terms of telephone votes there is more money to be made by vote-to-evict because getting rid of someone you dislike is a more motivating factor.

With VTS the big personalities are more likely to be saved and the fence-sitters and radar dodgers are more likely to go.

Yes because lets say most BB viewers disagreed with Jason taking the 20k so wanted him out. Not saying that is the case because I know it isn't but using this as an example. If it was vote to evict they would all simply vote him out. Mass votes on him....he's a gonna!!

For a vote to save though, everyone votes for their favorite of the ones who are nominated. Obviously as viewers we don't all have the same favorites so the votes are spread more even. A more even spread means that votes for all nominees, including Jason, are more closer meaning he is less likely to go!

A vote to save in theory should get rid of all the less popular housemates now, provided they get nominated in the first place!!

but with three going , vote to save is better , in BB11 they had vote to evict in final week & left all the boring ones with Josie , at least you can save your favourite

VTE favours quiet HMs. Sam would have no chance going in a VTE.

VTS favours those on screen.

Basically, if you appear a lot in the eviction show on a VTE, there is a much bigger chance you will be evicted.

If you appear a lot in the eviction show on a VTS, there is a big chance you'll stay.

BB will benefit by VTS....because if you want to save Jason Andy and Jackson you will vote 3 times...?BUT if it's VTE and you want Ryan out then you vote once..... it's all about the money which is why I don't VOTE
